Glad I purchased this before I went outside the States. It worked well and the signal was great for it being a portable WiFi. Turning it off and on to save battery life didn't take long to reconnect to my devices. You will have to play with it a bit to get familiar with it and don't forget to download the app. I recommend buying a bundle, but I didn't use up all the 8 Gb I purchased for my trip (shared with one other for 10 days), but I made sure background data was off to not have apps drain the data. Not gonna lie, you might get frustrated once you land and turn on the device. I was on a 16 hour flight and was getting frustrated that the device wasn't connecting right away since I was in a country I didn't know the language. Not sure if it was because the device needed time to register where I was since it was the other side of the world, but after calming down and letting the device do it's thing it worked well and I didn't have any issues with it during my trip. ... show more

I’ve used mobile hotspots in the past. This is far and away the worst one. I bought 10gb I can’t even watch a movie. I got 10 minutes in and it crashed. In contrast my iPhone has three gbs and we watched 3 days of tv and movies. It’s really crap. Between the unit and buying speed and throughput (10gbs) I’ve paid $150.00. I used the hotspot during travel to Ghana and Egypt. It was easy to purchase e-Sim cards and much cheaper than the per day plans offered by my mobile phone carrier. I did pay my phone off early so that I could make sure that my phone was unlock by the carrier, and everything was easy to navigate.

I bought this for work. I have to use electronic charting but was unable to get any type of signal! I have to put the hot spot in a window at times to get a signal but, I am usually able to get a signal and chart. Update: the battery charge is getting shorter and shorter.

I had 4 trips abroad coming up, so decided to get this hotspot rather than continue to pay $10 / day to use my regular phone data plan. I just took it on a weeklong trip to Europe, and it worked perfectly! I got the 5G plan, and I actually didn’t even use it all (I used wifi in my hotels to conserve my GlocalMe data).
