I got tired of dealing with weak hotel WiFi and random internet drops while traveling for work and short trips. Using my phone hotspot all the time was draining my battery fast, and I kept hitting limits with my carrier. I wanted something simple that could keep my laptop and tablet connected without turning every trip into a hunt for decent internet. That was the whole reason I picked this up. After using it on a few trips, it has been pretty reliable overall. Setup was easier than I expected, and I liked not having to mess around with SIM cards or contracts. The connection stayed steady most of the time, and being able to hook up several devices at once came in handy when my wife started using it too. It is also small enough to throw in a backpack pocket without taking up much space. There are a couple things that could be better though. The battery life is decent, but if you use it heavily all day you will probably need to recharge it by evening. Speeds can also slow down a bit in crowded areas, which honestly happens with almost any internet service anyway. The screen is pretty small too, so checking settings feels a little cramped. Overall, it solved the problem I bought it for without a bunch of extra hassle. I am not somebody who buys fancy travel gadgets, but this one has actually been useful instead of ending up forgotten in a drawer. It made traveling less annoying, especially during long airport waits and hotel stays. At this point, I would rather carry this around than gamble on terrible public WiFi again. ... show more

I bought this portable wifi to use in Jamaica on vacation. Currently, it works very well, just needs to be charged daily so keep a portable charger with you at all times to boost it up! It was pretty easy to set up and the password is conveniently printed on the back of the device...which makes it very easy for me! It has worked inside the house and out on the street so good signal strength...it is even more reliable than the WiFi in the house! Considering that this is portable and usable in over 200 countries, the possibilities are limitless and that makes the price well worth it! ... show more

The item did not work right with just one user connected to it it kept dropping single nothing would download right it was so slow it was unreal and when my friend got on it it was even worse it kept throwing us off the single I had to keep connecting reconnecting to the device because I would keep us on there it didn't work as described by the other reviews if I had to say I would not recommend this device to anyone if you're thinking about buying this device do not buy the device it's not worth the money and all you'll do is be sending it back stay away from the device and don't believe the other reviews ... show more

I tried it once with my iPad... Seemed to work okay.. I thought it came with data... I couldn't figure out how to access it, so I just bought a years worth.. I'm going to be taking a long road trip....So I'm hoping it will accommodate on my travels...

Very interesting device, has been working 50/50 since activating the 8 free GB of data for the US. it's been using mostly the T-mobile network with a few exceptions when it used AT&T. (It does not work on Verizon) according to my inquiry to get a SIM card from them and add it to my phone plan. I've used it with my cell, my kids tables and my iPad connected to it and so far the results have been good (for what I need it), nothing extraordinary or so. Nowhere near the advertised download speeds of 150 mbps; not even close…I've average speeds of 35-40mbps Downloading with 1-3 devices connected at once and as low as 2-5mbps with 2 bars and 1 device connected at once, so NO! You CAN’T run 10 devices (efficiently) at once; You can probably connect 10 devices but you’ll be getting 3mbps or less per device. So far it’s been working fine but I live in the suburbs with a major city very close and almost no dead points of cell service by any carriers in my area so I have not yet been able to test it out in the country which is the main reason I bought it for when I go camping in the woods I can have access to live tv without using and killing my phone’s battery because is used as a hotspot. One of the major disappointments so far has been the battery life; it’s supposed to last 8-12 hours of operation with up to 10 devices connected but so far the battery has only lasted 4-5 hours with 2-3 devices at once. I will keep testing it for another week before the return window closes and will update Wether it’s worth keeping it since I cannot use it with Verizon cause they don’t support this device on their network and it’ll suck if I paid $170 for this thing and can’t rely on its connectivity to a good network. Last thing, I don’t like that it goes to sleep mode too fast and the touchscreen does not wake up the device you have to look for the power button and then slide your finger to open it again, that’s not that effective and very distracting when you have to do it every few seconds. ... show more

I am tech-challenged, but this was so easy to set up. I just downloaded the app, scanned the device, and I was online. The fact that it comes with 60GB of US data and 12GB of Global data makes this the best deal on the market right now. It’s small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and the connection is much more secure than using sketchy public hotel or cafe WiFi. I’ve used it in both urban areas and more rural spots, and it switched between networks seamlessly to keep me connected. I have been using the GlocalMe G2 model for my travels for some years and was looking for an upgrade. The G2 model was good but it was a bit outdated and connection was sometime unstable. I chose this DuoTurbo model for more stable connection and more connected devices (10). I have used it for about a week now in US and Canada and everything meets my expectations. It has a sleek design and a very portable size for travel, the colored touch screen is clear and easy to operate but is a bit small. Set up was straight forward and connection is very stable. One full charge can last about 18 to 20 hrs. It is SIM-less and you need to purchase data package from GlocalMe or deposit money in your account for pay as you go charges. The packages are a bit expensive but discounts are provided frequently. It is quite flexible to fit people travelling to different countries. You can also insert a SIM card of your own. Apart from the expensive packages, everything is good for my need, an excellent upgrade. ... show more
