The lamp itself is great. Didnt come damaged, easy to set up, the on/off button has been working just fine. BUT. It's now ended up costing me way more than intended. I got it liking the simple look, but didnt anticipate that even the lowest watt bulb I can find is still SO BRIGHT without a lampshade. I guess if that's what you're looking for, yes this is the lamp you want. But I just wanted some mood light, something that I could see with but still be relaxed. As of right now, everytime I look over in that direction Im blinded by the bare bulb. So now I've spend another 30 dollars getting a lampshade and harp, and the stress of trying to figure out what size for it. ... show more

Decent lamp for the price, I just wanted something simple and sleek for a corner of my room. I got the light bulb that was recommended to go with it; and it gives a soft orange glow. My only issue with this lamp was the assembly. Be sure to pull the cord from the bottom of the base so it's easier to run the cord through the pipes that you have to screw together. And also make sure the screw ends that connect each pipe are aligned well. I ran into a problem where one of the silver pieces that connect the pipes unscrewed and went at an off-angle into the pipe I was originally connecting it to. I was a little nervous about getting this lamp after reading reviews that it came broken, but decided to take a chance. Sure enough, the top bit was smooshed. I had gotten it via Amazon Warehouse, which has been flawless up to now, and I will continue to use it - just wouldn't recommend buying this particular lamp that way. You don't save much and the risk of damage is too high. I returned the broken one and ordered it via regular Amazon, and it's perfect. Surprisingly sturdy for something you twist together, but it's slippery enamel so it may be faster to put it together with kitchen rubber gloves on. How bright it is depends on the bulb you choose - I like the suggested fairy light bulb, but an Edison light would be pretty too. It's an affordable and unique lamp that works with modern or vintage decor, depending on the bulb. Mostly it just stands unobtrusively in a corner, doing its job without calling unnecessary attention to itself. In short, it's your sofa's ideal wingman lamp. ... show more

I had to send 2 of them back because their bases were stripped and didn’t stand up right, but otherwise they work great. I have never considered myself to be below average intelligence until now. I received this today, was putting it together. One part of the poke has some wonky threading and cannot get it to go on straight. I’m going to leave that for hubby. BUT I got aggravated so went to find the pretty bulb as pictured and no bulb. I think it should be much clearer to the customer, maybe in BOLD letters, that you must spend an additional $8 and change to get the bulb! What I thought was going to be an inexpensive, simple accent piece to brighten just a small space has left me a bit on a fuming side. Instead of putting the photo they’ve chosen, It should be a plain lamp with zilch on the top with the bulb part in the corner as a design suggestion. ... show more

Using a 60W white bulb. SO bright. Love the style. My one concern was that the track to twist each pole into each other seemed off and left the lamp pole as a whole a bit like the leaning tower of piza. I tried many times to fix this but alas.

Definitely a great lamp. I order the lamp bulb that was recommended to go with it. It definitely completes the look of the lamp. It is a softer lighting- more dim and orange than natural bright. i do wish the lighting was a little brighter because the natural light in the room i put it in is not great- however if you are looking for a warm and cozy look, the bulb is great. Overall tho- the lamp is awesome and unique. Gives a great industrial modern vibe and works as both a lamp and accent piece. Very easy to put together!! ... show more
