The one downfall to this lamp is that it has a relatively small footprint, and as such my medium size dog has accidently knocked it over. You don't need tools to assemble it. All the pieces screw together. Very tall, adjustable, and the shades don't get hot if you have it on all day. I'm buying a second one.

Great lamp! Sturdy, nice looking. A bit harder to assemble, especially the top lampshade (it recoils back when I tried to tighten it?), but everything worked out at the end. However, it's a cheap lamp. I bought it for almost 30 dollars and I think it really only is worth $20. That being said, it seems to be the cheapest lamp on here, so if I don't find another cheaper and good-reviewed lamp, I'll buy another one of these to fit in my living room since it works just fine. ... show more

So it's it's a mother-daughter lamp. I ordered it, it works, it came together in a relatively small box that you have to assemble. It came missing parts for the top lamp shade and the top light shade doesn't fit well but it's functional for what I needed.
