This is the third or fourth lamp like it I have owned. The weak point has always been the plastic socket used at the base by the others. If you move the lamp around during the day on a regular basis, the plastic weakens and the lamp needs to be replaced. This version used a pressed and formed steel socket and base and is aging well. I have bought several of these lamps for use at manicure tables in my salon. The price is great, the design is sleek, and it gets the job done. Unfortunately, I have had to replace a few because the head attaches to the base with a plastic piece that breaks somewhat easily. You have to move the lamp very gently and NOT by moving the head of the lamp itself to avoid snapping the plastic joint. Came mostly assembled and is very nice looking but base of lamp is not secure to clamp. When assembling the base of the lamp sits in a hole at the top of the clamp, nothing locks it in place or keeps it attached to the clamp and the fit when it sits in the clamp is loose and wobbly. The lamp works great, I set it up with a smart bulb so I can adjust brightness and warmth, the clamp itself is solid and the knobs to adjust angle and height work great.
