This portable WIFI hotspot for travel SEEMS like it will work fine once I need to use the data when I travel. I don't need it YET (will likely be going to the UK later this year and ordered this so I could use it then/there) so do not want to connect to the hotspot yet. The device is small (maybe 2"x2") so very easy to carry with you. It comes with a plug that has regular USB on one end and what I assume is USB-C on the other; mine plugged into the device with no issues. (See my photo for what it comes with.) The device has its own SSID and password right on it, so don't lose it while traveling or someone else will be able to use your data! BUT on the other hand, step 5 of the instructions tell you how to modify the WIFI SSID and password and give DIFFERENT info (username, password) - so I am totally confused by this. It says it comes with 10GB of U.S. data, but again, I don't need that - I got this to use abroad. But I won't know until I get there if it works. So not really sure how to review this ... 4 stars because I THINK (hope!) it will work, but there's no way to test this to make sure it's working until you are in the country where you WANT to use it, in which case if it doesn't work you're just out of luck. Other reviewers (including non-Vine reviewers) are saying it worked great for them so I am giving it the benefit of the doubt!

Impressive. It works really well. I turned it on and it automatically started registering and once it registered, that was it, it was casting Wi-Fi that I could connect with giving me about 20 Mbps. Connecting is as simple as pointing the camera of your device at the QR code on the pocket WiFi and it automatically connects your device straight to it with the passcode already applied. Simple as that. You can view the password on the device that has already been connected and then other devices that have not been connected through the QR code can log into the network using the password manually. And the cell signal is great. At my home in a rural area that has patchy cell service, I have full bars on this travel Wi-Fi device while my cell phone only gets two bars. I drove it around for a couple of hours from a rural area to the city and back and never had less than full bars. Battery life seems really good. After two hours of use the battery icon is still showing the same level as it was when I turned it on. As for value for the money, I think it’s great. For traveling or for emergencies this pocket Wi-Fi is wonderful. You can keep this charged and turned off in a pocket somewhere and if you ever just need to connect for whatever reason from wherever you are, you can turn it on and log into the store using the QR code on the device and you can purchase from a number of different data packets. In the US for instance the lowest data pack currently is 3 GB valid for seven days for $9.90. And there are a number of data packets that go all the way up to 300GB valid for 365 days for $249. It will automatically activate if you turn on your device in the region that you purchased the pack for. I think it’s a real handy device and I’m impressed by the coverage and the speed. 20Mbps is more than adequate for basic Internet usage for up to 8 connections.
