These clips were sorted into little bags which was a nice touch. The rubber is good quality and thick. The clips are quite strong so they won't be moving around once you clip them. The clips and rubber covers are nice and better than I expected. However, the product description was somewhat misleading. I expected to receive 20 alligator clips of each color, 100 alligator clips total. As you can see from the photo, I received 10 each, that's 50 total alligator clips. If you carefully read through the product description you'll see the seller is including the rubber cover as part of the those pieces. 50 pieces of alligator clips and 50 pieces of rubber covers (10 of each color). I took one star off for the vague description which lead me to believe there were 100 alligator clips included in this pack. I haven't used these yet but I think they'll work great. What is the Max voltage for these alligator clips? I have only own this clips 2 weeks, (that I have used them) they works find, do need to know the max. voltage for this clips. "first time ask the question" This is my third attempt, at asking the same question. I do not understand why I can't get a answer to an important safety question? I need to know the maximum voltage that is alligator clips cover can be use on ? I don't understand why I cannot get a an answer to my question! Please let me know. I am close to 70 years old, and my heart is not 100%. I do not want to use these alligator clips on 240 V or higher, and find out it's above the maximum voltage for the covers. The idea being shocked doesn't appeal to me at all!! I like these clips. They are priced for value but they are reasonably well made compared to a name brand part. They are easy to solder to. The jaws are in alignment for most of these and the clip force is high enough that they make a good electrical connection to whatever they are attached to. A few in the kit I received had jaws that were slightly out of alignment but I was able to correct them with a little force from a small pair of pliers. The rivets are not installed on the same side of the clips and some of them are not flush with the jaws. But they all work well with a good grip so I'm not concerned about that since the cover hides the rivets. Overall I think these are a good value and a good way to load up your inventory. When a project needs them they will be there. ... show more

Too many defective clips. It appears someone has been trying to save on steel by not using enough of it. The metal stamping has too many failures, and out of 20 clips I selected to use, three of them fell apart because the rivet was not crimped properly. (The rivet fell out of the clip.)     • Clips are junk, I only use the insulator boots

I buy these only for the insulator boots and scrap the clips. Learned my lesson last time, the clips themselves are junk. Jaws do not align, paper thin metal and the hinge pin poorly swaged on one side. They literally fall apart. I buy better clips (Mueller brand) without boots and use only the boots from these for a cable assembly I build for a customer. Boots are good enough, I only use 4 of the 5 colors and it's still cheaper than buying Mueller boots only. ... show more

    • Vinyl "boots" are very slippery and difficult to grip.

When you grip an alligator clips to open it for a connection, the plastic "boot" slips and forces the clip to rotate sideways. That's the problem with most of these cheap clips from China. I've tried several suppliers and they're all the same. Many use the same photo!

I've used a number of the cheap import alligator clips, and have almost always hated them because of poor quality and cheap construction. Finally, here are some clips that have the thumbpad rounded so it doesn't slip or deform, sharp teeth, and a solid feel. Definitely recommend these - great value for the price. ... show more

I replaced a half dozen clips that had either broken off or were damaged with these new ones. I liked being able to select the size clip I wanted for each item. They were easy to install by crimping and seem plenty durable for my use. Plus, 120 clips in 3 sizes? Can't beat that!
