I have several heavy duty Jorgensen clamps I bought several years ago, and was looking for more of the same. I ordered these with those in mind, and was surprised by how low the price was. Well - it turns out that the heavy duty clamps I have are no longer available, and have been replaced by these "medium duty" versions, which are noticeably lighter. In the photo I show them compared to a harbor freight version and my original clamps. The size and weight and strength of the components are in between but closer to the HF version than to the original Jorgensen, which is disappointing. The screw adjustment does have noticeably more travel distance than the HF model. So far, I don't love the way you lock /unlock the clamp head by tilting the handle. I may get used to it but right now I find it awkward. Also the rubber cap on the end piece falls off pretty easily, similar to the HF model. The rubber tips on the older Jorgensen are much more robust and stay in place. Nonetheless I'll give it 5 stars for now since it was clearly marked medium-duty and they seem strong enough for most uses. I'll update this after I've used them for some time. Just be aware that these are quite different than the bar clamps they used to sell. ... show more

You can never have enough clamps. Why not own the best. I already owned several Jorgensen and Beesey bar clamps. I needed some longer clamps so picked up 4 of these at a good priced during the Black Friday sale. I also own a collection of pipe clamps which I previously used for large clamp ups. I prefer the bar clamps as they apply a much more even pressure to my work. These also don't get rusty like the pipe clamps do. I like my Jorgensen's over my Beesey's (not fully sure why) but both are great clamps. These clamps provide even clamp pressure across the full length of the jaw which minimizes warpage caused by the clamp pressure. The clamps lay flat on my glue-up table making clamp ups easy. Looking to pick up a few more of the smaller clamps. ... show more

I was not expecting them to be so heavy-duty. They are heavy and seem to be very well made. I have not operated them as of yet. I purchased them with the intent of repairing some cabinet doors. I will write a follow-up review after my first use of them. But honestly, these are way above the skill rate of the clamps I have used in the past. ... show more

I've been waiting for the price to drop or to catch them on sale - I bought these to glue up panels quickly and flatly. Starting glue-ups with these on the table first greatly speeds up the process - set the wood, clamp first with these, then add the finicky "F" clamps as needed for additional pressure. ... show more

    • Skeptical of China version but they seem OK

I have several older 4 ft Cabinet Master clamps made in USA but I needed some shorter ones. Because my older ones are so good and China is now the producer I was very skeptical of the quality of the current clamps. But I ordered four 2 ft clamps and tested each one on a 4/4 board with the maximum pressure I could apply by hand and they seem to be performing as well as my older clamps. The screw on the new ones are black instead of bright metal so I was concerned that the screws may be plastic but they are not. They attract a magnet and are lubricated from the factory so definitely ferrous metal. The handles on the new ones are a little harder on your hands due to some lettering embedded in the plastic but they are a rubberized handle which frankly is a little better than my oldest ones that have wooden handles that can get slippery. The built in stand works just as well and it is just as easy to put the clamp into its sliding function and lock it back in to clamping as the older ones. So far so good and I currently have no reason to suspect that these new offshore clamps won't be as good as my older ones. ... show more
