Meet boxem. He is my heater. I have Neuropathy and I can not feel my feet when it's cold. This thing helps so much. easy to use, very safe with the switch on the bottom that if the unit tips over it cuts off. If you are like me and slaps around like a dolphin on Redbull when I sleep and accidentally kick it over it will cut off. But by all means DO NOT go to sleep with a heater left on. Remember fire is bad. This hear is good. The buttons are clearly marked for no guess work. Living a little SW of Yellowstone National Park it can get very cold at night. With 3 big dogs in the house my two cats are confined to the master bedroom/bathroom. We put a cat door in the bedroom window that leads to their cat condo so they can go outside. My desk is in my basement, and in the winter the room gets pretty cold. I used to have my stuff setup in another part of the room but now I'm in the corner. The space is wide open and the walls aren't insulated, but I do have carpet in this corner with padding under it. This does work to take the chill off. If i put it under my desk I can put it between my feet facing me and it does a decent job keeping it warm. If I put it on top of my desk, I need to have it about 18 inches away where its not too hot, but not too far away. The room is too big so it doesn't warm up the room, but it does enough to warm me now where I am comfortable. My wife came down to talk to me and when she got in my bubble she noticed it was warmer, and I dont notice it while i'm sitting here but when I get up and walk about one foot further away its like a wall of cold again. So it does it's job. I happened to have a power meter for some tests I was doing with my equiipment so I plugged this in here that it did pull just a hair over 1500 watts, so it's delivering as expected. What I do like is that the case of it does not get warm. The front of it absolutely gets really hot, but the plastic around it and on the bottom stay cool to the touch. There is a small switch on the bottom so it has to be upright in order for it to work. So for my needs, this works out just fine. You wont feel it further then about 2.5-3ft away, but also being closer then about 1.5 feet may be too hot ... show more
