I just installed the tb15bplus air hose reel. I had lag bolts and washers to install it on wood 2x4 thatis anchored to my garage wall. It is a light weight unit. I pulled the hose out and it reminded strong and smooth. It seems to be the ideal hose reel for my home garage. The operation works well. Time will tell how durable it will be. I have been looking at hose reels for a while and choose this one over the ones at harbor freight, home depot, Lowes etc. I am happy with the compact size and weight. This is a review of the Giraffe Tools TA15B Retractable Air Hose Reel. I selected this retractable pneumatic hose reel because it met my requirements. 50 foot and 3/8 inch. Overall, it works as advertised and expected. It a bit unrefined in that it does not track as it retracts, so the hose gets a little messy and uneven. But it works. It's also an open design, in that the reel is not enclosed, which is obvious by the pictures in the advertisement. I am giving this a four star rating due to its recoil speed. I've found that to retract it it, it's best to hold the very end of the hose and walk it in. If you retract it closer to the reel, you will have to hold the hose to slow it down, and it retracts at enough speed to actually burn your hand as you try to brake its speed. The recoil of this reek definitely works, you just need to manage it. Don't just initiate a recoil and let it go. Otherwise it works, seems tough enough to hold up, is easy to mount, the hose is a good quality, and the price is appropriate. ... show more

I do like this reel, the quality is decent and the price is reasonable with a small gripe. The retract works well and pulls the hose all the way in without fuss. But the most annoying thing is the hose STINKS! I'll give it a few days, hopefully the smell subsides but if not it'll have to go back. I can't hardly stand the smell in the garage. ... show more
