This is by far the best cutter for tubing I have found. Ive tried the little one with a v blade and the ratchet types. Those all crush and end up cutting at an angle. This cutter does the best job at a square cut. The blade is super sharp so be careful! Its definitely worth every penny.

    • Cuts pneumatic tubing cleaner than anything else I've used

Want perfect 90⁰ cuts with no deformation? These are the bees knees. Too bad I didn't have these back when I was doing more pneumatic HVAC controls. They're pricey, but they are clean and consistent. A must for any serious pneumatic project.

I finally found the perfect cutter for really tough 1/2” nylon pneumatic tubing! Makes a very nice flat cut on the face of the hose which provides a good seal with push in fittings. However, the very important locking tab could have been made to be a bit beefier (i.e. made thicker/larger/not made of plastic) as it looks to be pretty flimsy and I’ve seen other reviews where they’ve been snapped in half, which is a negative especially for the price of a premium Knipex tool. If they instead used the same rotating lock design as their mini bolt cutters, or like the latching ones typically used on tin snips, it would do a much better job of holding the cutter safely closed, as you don’t want these extremely sharp cutters to spring open in a drawer or toolbag just from rattling around inside. It looks to me almost as if the locking tab was a design afterthought on an otherwise sturdy, well-built pair of tubing cutters. ... show more

Wow. Smooth is all I can say. Had Milwaukee, Lenox, rigid and a lot of others and these are by far the best I’ve ever used. Been plumbing for 36 years and this is the most comfortable and easiest pair to handle by far.

All metal components have rust. See in the side profile in bwteeen the two chrome metal pieces there’s a spring. It’s rusty as well and the cutter does not open and close nicely. I have been burned

As usual for German tools, the design on paper is near flawless, what’s unique here is judgement by knipex to manufacture tubing cutters with multiple part handles in plastic. They work, but no better than their competitors for half the price using these materials. They flex and creak cutting 3/4” schedule 40 PVC and PEX B, not so much with 1/2”. But the real kicker is the replacement blades are as much as the tool itself, which means it’s designed to be tossed at that point. ... show more
