    • Amazing reel! Worth every penny!
Completely smooth casting and retrieving right out of the box! Been a fan of Daiwa baitcasters, had a few but this is the best yet! First day out caught a big cod and a keeper fluke, paired it with a Dark Matter Psychedelic custom jigging rod. Although pricier than the Lexa, the Prorex is worth it!

Upgrade side handle screw to stainless steel versus bronze in a Lexa is a plus

    • Diawa doesn’t back their products
Review Image by Amazon Customer
Had this reel for 2 years. Just started using it last fall. This spring the anti-reverse broke and now it will spin in reverse. Reached out to Diawa and they will not back their product. I can pay to send it out and pay to have them fix it. Total BS. I’ve had my Abu Garcia reel for almost 20 years and have had no problems. This didn’t even make it 10 trips and it broke. On top of the poor quality and customer service (which was no help), the t-wing design will make your line spool to one side which is annoying. I will never buy a Diawa again and would highly recommend against anyone buying their products. I’ve attached a video to show what happens when the anti-reverse breaks. As well as a photo of the line spooling to one side. ... show more

I like this reel better than the LexaHD reels. No backlashes. Smooth. Caught the fish in the picture the first few days I had it.

    • NOT THE HIGH SPEED GEAR RATIO - still a great product
After some limited use, I like the product but was annoyed that I paid $300 for a reel without the high speed 8.1 gear ratio........ The advertised picture has the 8.1 (highest speed) but they ship you the 7.1 gear ratio which is the medium speed. It may turn out that I like the 7.1 better but need more time using it. ... show more

    • Doesn’t last
Second daiwa reel for musky fishing and neither have lasted even half of a season. Cast smooth and works great, until it doesn’t. Customer service is decent but a pain when you have to send a brand new reel in multiple times. Personally won’t buy another daiwa reel
