    • Bought a new set to replace some that stopped working after 4 years, then got a surprise!

We originally purchased these four years ago when we moved into our new home. After four years a few failed to go on after dark, so I bought rechargeable batteries to replace the originals, didn't fix the problem so I decided to buy 6 more to replace those that didn't work. Not really a big deal after four years. However, when I installed the new ones, I saw that the On/Off switch in the new ones had a moisture cover the originals did not have. So I spent some time working on the switches on the old ones that were not working, now they all work! So I just added some more lights to our yard. So even though everything was packaged snuggly, the lighting implement had a crack along the base where it attaches to the glass fixture, another had damage to the spike, and another fixture just didn't light up fully, and we noticed there was slight damage to the solar portion. So, there needs to be some improvement to the products' shipping protection. The product itself is solid and quite beautiful, but the damages were disappointing, and there was no visible damage to the outside of the product that could have been caused by shipping. ... show more

These are nice for bordering a walkway after dark. They are attractive, well made, easy to assemble, and are ready to go after a few hours of charging. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is they should be a little brighter. That's worth a half star off. As only whole numbers are allowed, I must use 4 stars; but they are 4.5 in my book. In fact, I like them enough that I have ordered a 2nd set for a garden area. UPDATE: One of the lights in the first set went out right away. I contacted the company, and they promptly replied, apologized, and sent me a replacement. No hassle! That's 5 star service, so I've updated my star rating to reflect that. Also, the lights in the second set I ordered are all working well so far, and I'm likely to buy a 3rd set for another area. UPDATE 2: Because of the quality of these lights and the excellent customer service, I have now ordered that 3rd set I was considering. ... show more
