  • 3060 Ti to 4070 - Worth it?
The short answer is maybe. I stick with Nvidia because they're solid tech for graphics - slightly ahead of AMD but definitely not priced as well. 600 for 12 gigz vram is almost too much considering what the competition offers but had slightly better power consumption (specifically Gigabytes Eagle) over most of AMD's similar to more powerful options while being more adept for ray tracing (if you really care for it) Vram is needed to handle better framerates at high resolutions. This model specifically excels at 1440p at 60+ frames for most current games. Less FPS with ray tracing. While it's pretty to look at, it's not what I look for. For higher frame rates, AMD probably has you covered since for the price point, they offer more Vram for better prices. AMD has more vram options. Nvidia has superior tech like frame generation when playing at higher resolutions and better optimized ray tracing. As far as upgrading from my 3060 Ti, it's a subtle difference at best. While frame rates are higher and 4th generation can utilize newer tech, it's not enough to storm out there to buy a 4070. I wouldn't even go for 4070 Ti. You may as well look at a 4080 or really just wait and save for that sweet sweet 4090 if you really wanna flex on your friends for a year before it becomes overshadowed but Miss New Thang. I like the 4070 though. It offers quality in both quality and performance (ray tracing or higher frame rates) and I can still live with myself for buying it while only still thinking -maybe- if I saved and waited, I could've balled out on that new new but hindsight is 20/20. AMD certainly makes a tempting offer and I would always suggest doing your own research on youtube or maybe asking around reddit. If this review still has you wondering if you're making the right choice then you should consider your options. Again, it's still pretty good but as time goes by, 12 gigz vram is a hard sell for Joe Blow Shplamoni to fork over 600 clams when the competition gives us more options. ... show more

  • Very Good GPU for 1080p Gaming!
So far there have been no issues with this card other than the price, but that’s how NVIDIA has been with their cards anyways lol. The design is very nice and sleek with pretty basic RGB, but I actually like it. There’s not many too many options though when it comes to customizing the RGB from the Gigabyte control center so mine is just a static blue for now. The 1080p performance is amazing! I’m getting a max of 165FPS on Ultra settings on about everything I play, but that’s just because my monitor is 165Hz so it can’t really go above that anyways. 3D Mark says most games can run well above that with DX11. DX12 stats are pretty good too, just with a little less FPS. Temps are actually very impressive. I get about 28-34 degrees Celsius while idling and the highest temp I’ve seen it at after a regular gaming session while recording was no more than 65 Celsius. Even at that temperature the fans were extremely quiet and I can’t even hear them unless I put my ear near the PC. After about a week of using it, I am very pleased with the performance and I game with a comfortable FPS and very nice looking games! I don’t normally write reviews so hopefully this gave some good information lol ... show more

  • it was worth it
The games look breath taking. I usually build my own pcs for years but I decided to buy one expensive item knowing my pc CPU would bottleneck the graphics card welp it didn't at all. I keep my fps lowered intentionally but it handles over 100 fps with ease and since I'm able to see my older out dated CPU that was supposed to bottleneck my gpu it didn't for my purposes. Great buy I'm glad I took the risk! Very reliable brand the, "equvilancy" brands I've tested over heated performed similarly but I dont want to be black screened so I stuck with what I know works over 10 years experience with this brand! ... show more

  • Great card, make sure to install it correctly.
Ive seen people mention Gigabyte 40xx cards cracking on the PCB due to weight, and I think that's probably due to incorrect installation. The card features an anti-sag bracket, but to have an effect you need to lift the card up so its level, THEN tighten the thumb screw on the bracket. if you let it sag and then tighten it, its not going to protect your card. Gigabyte really should put a "READ THIS" card with visual instructions on top of the box. ... show more
