It seems like a very cute product. Unfortunately the battery was dead within an hour of turning it on, so I did not get a chance to enjoy it.

I have the Floppy Frog and Pixel Puppy. If you are not a vpet collector and are just looking to snag one for nostalgia I would recommend the Floppy Frog as a great entry point. If you are a collector then any of them are great to add next. I plan on collecting every device they have and every other one Top Secret Toys makes in the future because these devices just have so much heart to them. You can tell they are made with the community of millenial vpet collectors in mind. There is so much attention to detail. As for battery life, I know that the battery that comes with the devices is more of a tester so make sure that you buy back ups. I appreciate this because it keeps the price point for the devices low and I have a bunch of these batteries on hand anyway. I will say that I have had my Floppy Frog for three weeks and haven't even had the low battery warning yet let alone a dead battery. Pixel Puppy I have only had for five days so I can't speak to the battery life on that one. I really disliked GigaPets as a kid but I think that Top Secret Toys is doing much better with these GigaPets than Tiger did with the originals from the 90s. Battery Update: Floppy Frog still going strong. Pixel Puppy flashing low warning light. I'm going to keep running it and see how long it can live on the initial battery.

I never had a giga pet growing up, I always had Tamagotchis, so this was a new experience for me! I like that the mini games change throughout their life stages. It feels pretty easy to care for, while still being engaging. It is kinda forgiving, as I have forgotten to check on it for almost a day a few times, and my little frog was still alive. I don't think it has any sort of pause function like some modern virtual pets have. My only complaint is 1.) It can be quite noisy. I know I can turn sounds off, but I do like leaving them on so I can hear if it needs attention. Your frog will do little activities on screen when you aren't playing with them, and sometimes you hear a splash or a ribbit. During the second life stage this thing is constantly jumping in the water and making a loud splashing noise. They go into a rest mode after you haven't played with them for a little bit, so it eventually stops. Kinda a nitpick, but felt it was worth mentioning. 2.) Battery life. Probably because of the varied animations and sounds, this thing has a much shorter battery life compared to similar Tamagotchis and Digivices. I had this for about two weeks before I got a low battery notification in the middle of a game. Cell batteries are kinda pricy, so it might get expensive to run this for a long time. This isn't something I would run more than a month or so at a time, but I will for sure keep it in my virtual pet rotation. For $20 I think it's a good deal, and probably a bit more engaging than the tamagotchi v1 and v2 remakes.

I bought this for my fully grown daughter, thinking it would be a fun, nostalgic throwback to her childhood. Instead, I have watched a grown woman nearly burst into tears because her pixelated pet got “sick” while she was in a meeting. This thing demands attention like a newborn with a superiority complex. If she so much as looks away for an hour, it beeps in distress, probably composing its own will. Does she love it? Absolutely. Is she emotionally trapped in a toxic relationship with a digital blob? Also yes. 5 stars—for the pure chaos and commitment it has brought into my home. I hope she and this tiny pixelated tyrant are very happy together.

I got it and it wouldnt work. Tried every troubleshoot suggested online and still nothing. Made me cancel my order for the cryptid one which I was stoked for, but since the frog wont work. Im not gonna waste my money on another one. Ordered an actual Tamagotchi instead. So yeah. Sour taste in my mouth for gigapets and definately not ordering from them again.
