The outside and inside dimensions are great but the door is 3 inches more narrow than the inside of the safe, so putting a binder inside of it is not practical.

I’m bought this safe for my important documents and such thinking it was small. After receiving I noticed it’s a really nice size, big enough for anything you want to keep safe such as: jewelry, documents, personal items, and more. It was super easy to set up and the instructions were fabulous!

This safe is easy to use. It is not as heavy as others I have owned which is a good thing. It has enough room to add paperwork that might be bulkier. It is worth the price.

    • UPDATE on My Original Dissatisfaction!
The 2.0 box is large and quite heavy. Did not receive the fireproof bag as promised or any battery pack as description mentioned. No directions on how to open the key cover. FYI you push in on the bottom for those who are still struggling, I next put new Duracell batteries in and there was no light inside or on the outside. I replaced them twice and same thing. After trying to contact Amazon for hours to get a replacement instead of a refund since I had received a discount when originally purchased, no callback three times, chat box is all robots and had to repeat my whole ordeal four times, they said I needed to contact the seller. I sent two emails to the seller and explained it all, and the next day their anwer was that I bought it through Amazon so they will take care of it. Terrible customer service on both ends. Safe looked like it was returned before. Now I have to box this heavy safe up and get it back via UPS because Amazon robots said they cannot send a QR code anywhere except UPS. Whole ordeal a big unanticipated mess! UPDATE: Seller finally emailed me again and made things right by me and was very apologetic. So I changed my rating to 4 stars since they corrected the problem in the end. ... show more

The safe is very basic. There is no way the standalone safe is fire, proof, nor waterproof. They do provide one small fire bag and I guess that’s what they consider fire proof interior space is small and cramped. I probably would not buy it again.

The method to setup the password was given clearly in the instruction manual. The LED light inside the safe makes it easy to look at all the items in the dark. Great little safe! Fits in just the right spot and doesn’t rattle. Sits even. 3 ways to open and holds everything perfectly. Manual is informative but only tells you to get 1.5 v batteries and not actually what kind of battery to use. But it’s easy trial and error to pick the right ones.

Nothing NOT to like about this safe. There is a lot of value in this purchase. It is solidly made and just the right size for documents and items with a shelf to increase its capacity. I placed it inside of a built-in cabinet over my desk and lag-bolted it into the wall behind. EASY to do and easy to operate. I like the battery backup and keys in case of problems. As to fire-proofness and water-proofness, I confess I really don't want to test that out, but given the sturdiness and perceived construction of this safe, I have every confidence that it will be wonderful for keeping safe our important documents and items.
