This is a nice safe. Much heavier and sturdier than I expected, which is great because I was afraid it would be flimsy. Not the case. The lock system is easy to set up and straightforward. If you want something secure but don’t want to spend a fortune I recommend this case. Worth every penny!

I usually like the "Amazon Basics" product line and have had good stuff at a good price. This time I got a dead digital safe on the first try but Amazon quickly sent out a replacement that was 100% working. I did buy the extended warranty...jic. the main reason I like this unit is affordable and bootable! You can bolt it to a wall or floor, comes with heavy anchors but you'll need lag bolts if you're going into a stud vs concrete. I'm sure you can defeat the door with a large enough crow bar and time or just cut through the thing with a cordless whiz wheel. Now that said...most thief's want in and out easy...this is not that, especially bolted down. For the money it will work just fine and the size, 1.3 more than sufficient for guns, money, jewelry, documents and has a shelf to split the safe in half or remove for full use of larger items. It is not fire proof but for the money, you know that going in. It is to prevent theft. Pay 3x's as much and you get fire for maybe a whole hour...pay 10x's as much and you get 5 hours burn time. Do the math...just increase your insurance premium and save the weight and headache. Good enough for basic safety and simple storage like a gun or travelling cash. 1 star came off because of the DOA as the battery compartment is a little cheap in all plastic and metal tray might have been a little wiser for durability sake. It’s great for paperwork that is important and small valuable items. Make sure to hide it good and bolts that are included or it’s so small that you can just carry off this small inexpensive model. They offer more sizes for your needs and what you can afford

Let’s start with the kind of safe it is. It’s a 1/8” plate steel safe; it is not fireproof. It is idiot proof, however. It has a key as well as a keypad to secure the door and your possessions. It has anchors, which are suitable for concrete, block or brick. It has predrilled 3/8” holes in the back and on the bottom. The bottom holes are perfect to put lag bolts through and secure to the floor. This safe will stop your kids, grandkids, friends of the aforementioned and punks who break in while you’re vacationing. A “pro” could surely defeat it, so if you’re expecting Fort Knox for just over $100.00, you’re not going to get it and probably never will. I have had big rifle vaults which are pricey but effective. I would tell anyone looking to protect their loved ones, secure your pistols, some jewelry and some other items buy at least one! The craftsmanship is outstanding, the locking mechanism is strong and has two 5/8” bolts to secure the door. The hinges are recessed from the door opening, so you’re not getting into it quickly, without tools. I forgot to mention there’s a small shelf about 4” from the top, which is my ammo shelf.
