I didn’t know what to expect buying a safe from Amazon, however I have been pleasantly surprised with this thing! It was easy to set up the code initially and comes with two physical keys in case you forget the code or the battery dies or something like that. Locking mechanism seems thick/strong. It comes with large lag bolts to be mounted to the wall or ground, I have yet to do that, but would probably be wise as it’s pretty small and can be carried away.

This is one of those purchases that is very surprising, in a good way. Was expecting this to be an Amazon special and rather average. This is a fairly well designed and built safe. Heavy and solid. Lock mechanism works well and the key backup is a great idea. Surprising amount of room inside. I would put the security level of this at 5 out of 10. Great for ammo and equipment storage but I wouldn't rely on it for handgun storage. Would highly recommend!

Let’s start with the kind of safe it is. It’s a 1/8” plate steel safe; it is not fireproof. It is idiot proof, however. It has a key as well as a keypad to secure the door and your possessions. It has anchors, which are suitable for concrete, block or brick. It has predrilled 3/8” holes in the back and on the bottom. The bottom holes are perfect to put lag bolts through and secure to the floor. This safe will stop your kids, grandkids, friends of the aforementioned and punks who break in while you’re vacationing. A “pro” could surely defeat it, so if you’re expecting Fort Knox for just over $100.00, you’re not going to get it and probably never will. I have had big rifle vaults which are pricey but effective. I would tell anyone looking to protect their loved ones, secure your pistols, some jewelry and some other items buy at least one! The craftsmanship is outstanding, the locking mechanism is strong and has two 5/8” bolts to secure the door. The hinges are recessed from the door opening, so you’re not getting into it quickly, without tools. I forgot to mention there’s a small shelf about 4” from the top, which is my ammo shelf. I like it showed up the next day, I like the fingerprint scanner, I like that when you install it properly. It's going nowhere. If you are looking for a safe that will be the only thing left after a house fire, this is not your safe, that is in the Expensive isle. This is a there is zero chance of you getting this open or off the closet/guest room floor before you get caught safe. Easy setup, you should take the time to do several fingerprints. I like the big size. I used much more than I thought. The waterproof rating is good, I said what the heck and hit it with a 2300PSI power washer, the result was DRY on the inside, a few drops, but that thing can take the paint off a car, different than as if I threw it in a pool but not a bad test. In addition, the fingerprint scanner still worked after the water beating. Exactly what I needed and I did not know anything about safes or what to look at. Amazon basics nocked it out of the park with this one. I do think that if you have space, and means to get a fireproof & waterproof super ninja safe go for it but a safe that can survive a real fire / or water the cost must be extraordinary, fire-resistant means nothing, and water-resistant safe protects against water used to fight fires, so ideally you need a combination fireproof/waterproof safe. Sure would love one but the price for features gotta stick to my decision. This was a great purchase.
