I wanted a place to store cash and I tried the cheaper little lock boxes but they were all so flimsy and easily picked open. I opted to spend a little more and I’m glad I got this safe. It’s not the most durable safe, but for the money it will deter most thieves if you have it bolted down. It would take a lot of effort to get into this safe when bolted down, but I wouldn’t trust it to just leave it out as it’s small enough that someone could simply take it and work on opening it later. For the price though, I really like it. It’s easy to operate and the keypad is very responsive. The beeping is a little annoying but it is what it is. It works every time without fail and quickly locks itself again after you access it. I check every time to make sure the door has locked when I’m done and it’s been very reliable. I have only had this for just a few days but so far so good. It’s a decent little safe for the price it is. If you are wanting something just to keep some small things in, or out of reach for a child and your not wanting to pay those large prices then this one should do you well. It comes with the screws to bolt it to a surface as well as a little lining for the inside which I thought was nice. The set up is super easy! The only con that I have so far is that the door handle isn’t as sturdy/ tight as I would prefer. It has a bit of a wobble so that makes me a tiny bit concerned as to if it will break after some usage or not. Other than that I am very impressed with the quality and the ease of use/set up. It's not fireproof or water proof that I can tell or read but it does the exact job I need it to. It's small enough to conceal and can be bolted to either wood or concrete or both. I got mine today and mounted to to both the concrete back and wood dresser it's installed under along with a few other small security addition I added. I normally don't review products this quickly because I haven't tried it long enough to know for sure, but in this case I already have it permanently mounted so unless there is a catastrophic failure my opinion will not change. I love the simplicity of it and it looks nice. It's the perfect size for my needs and I will get a fireproof and waterproof bag to put inside the safe to protect the few items that need it. Still cheaper then the next closest option. I am blown away with what I got for this price. It's not going to keep anyone determined enough out but most criminals are lazy and won't bother provided they get that far. ... show more

I have been working with a 14 y/o who is too young to open their own bank account. He has since saved up a good chunk of money working with me and has no safe place to keep it at home other than on his person in his wallet. I decided to purchase this to help him from carrying all of his cash with him at all times and encouraged him to use it as a savings account. Upon opening his safe he was ecstatic that he has a safe place to store his possessions and no other siblings can get to them. My main goal was accomplished for this safe and its a constant reminder that investing in something to protect your valuables is not a bad idea. My personal opinion upon setting the box up was that it is not heavy duty. The door has no padding between the box and the door so when it closes it clanks. I fixed this with a felt padding (no biggie). The metal is quite thin but durable. The handle is plastic and feels cheap, has a lot of play when locked but does its job. I have a feeling the handle will be the first to break. The beeping is quite loud so everyone will know you are going to open your safe soon as you start clicking around. Overall I'm happy with my purchase because it will serve its intended purpose. It may not be the strongest box out there but for the price I could not help myself. I'm sure a crowbar will open this with a bit of time but it will cause resistance and a struggle to a thief. ... show more

The paint is chipped off at the top of the door like someone tried to pry it open?? Why? The directions could have been a lot more user friendly. Like showing where to put the key and where the red reset button is. I had to use a knife to pop open the cover for the key or break my nails .I used the key as directed to open it, the key wouldn’t turn . I had to hit the key to get it to shove in all the way. Once I got the key in and fought to get it turned and open it.. a safe should be user friendly not have you cussing the first 2 minutes. Do not mount the safe as you have to man handle it to get it to open. I set the code as directed. The green light and beeped 2 times according to instructions this means it’s set. I shut the door put in the code and it didn’t work. I had to use the keys again, bear hug and grip the door open( cussing a bit more! This is basically an expensive toy for a kid, because an adult doesn’t need this kind of stress! There is no way it is waterproof or fire proof.. just user proof! Do not buy this POS!! So much for having a safe delivered . I’m going to pick up a Sentry safe like I should have to begin with.🙄😡 ... show more

This bookshelf-size safe is superb. For one thing, the price is unbeatable for the quality of the product. It is compact, sturdy as can be for its size, very secure and easily placed on a shelf out of sight. I’m actually quite surprised based on its low cost. The digital component operated on 4 AA batteries that come with the safe and, in the event the batteries fail, there’s a hidden port to insert a key to open it.
