Although it takes a bit of an effort to install, this is a great way to keep your glass covered. I don't have the greatest of patience, but I've invested quite a bit into my AR, and wanted my XPS to be protected. I recommend this for anyone that wants a quality glass protector

I am posting this review to counter a few negative and misleading ones out there. The largest issue seems to be that the product doesn't fit correctly in the protective shroud. Most of these are due to either the incorrect model or not reading the instruction sheet provided. In order for the lens cover to fit, it must be very snug and this in turn keeps it from rattling and making noise while you are in the field. Align the cover with the proper emblem toward the front, and you roll it into position - using a drop of dish washing liquid as a lubricant if needed. In a warm room or outside this is easily accomplished while dry. I recommend two bumpers on the top shroud to keep the cover quiet when it's deployed. Great protection at a reasonable price.

Straightforward install, fits great, works nicely. The sound dampeners seem kind of worthless. Will see how it is after some mileage.

I have owned a GG&G cover similar to this one, but for the eotech 512, and it was great. That was the only reason I ignored the warnings from customers reviews and bought this one anyways. Long story short, the part that fits under the protective hood is not long enough and doesn’t allow it to fit properly. By not being completely seated in the hood, the spring loaded doors can not latch shut properly. If the item was 1/16” longer under hood, everything would fall into place and the product would be great. It’s ashame because I was really excited about it. Maybe the product is correct leaving the factory, but being exposed to heat while shipping/storage or shrinking slightly over time, it doesn’t work anymore. I considered using a heatgun to carefully mold it into correct shape but honestly, it’s not my job to correct a $50 piece of rubber. If GG&G could guarantee this item is fixed and functional, I would definitely buy again! Until then, I think I’ll pass.

I've got one of these for an Eotech 512, and it's perfect. This one does what the title of this review says. The back cover won't latch closed tightly. It'll latch partly closed, but it's very easy to knock open. I suppose I could take the lens hood off and remount it to correct the problem but that isn't a trivial job and I'm inclined to just live with it. The rifle is in a case most of the time, and isn't likely to be subjected to the rigors of a service rifle (barring a zombie apocalypse), so it is an inconvenience rather than a fatal flaw.

Easy install. The front cover doesn't close flush. but it's better than nothing. Oh and the rear cover won't open/close while my eotech magnifier is attached. (flipped to the side)

not sure if i got lucky but if everyone got one like mine i have no idea what all the bad reviews are about. i didn’t even read the instructions and instillation took me about 30 seconds. works perfectly, doors are flush and close perfectly. i prefer these to the old versions that replaced the entire metal housing.
