Setup: Connected it directly to our RO water filter system - no more refilling! The open pour design makes plumbing connections super easy compared to other units. I just read a similar review which I wish I would have caught before purchasing. My machine worked for 2 weeks. Then it said to add water when it had water. Tried everything to resolve the issue with no success. Reached out to Gevi for product support and they said the same thing to return to Amazon because I was within my 30 days. The listing says the sell will refund or replace but there is no option for replacement. Gevi then said they would send me a replacement so I unpacked it so I could send a photo of the back sticker. I sent everything they requested. I then get a different email saying they won’t replace and to work it out with the seller on Amazon. I purchased a two stage filter to accommodate the direct line which no one is going to reimburse me for and I purchased the extended warranty which I learned only goes into effect after the manufacturer’s warranty expires. Bad review for the seller and Gevi!

This is the second ice machine I've ever owned. The first one was an Emerson. I loved it. When I moved to California it accidentally got left behind. Being an ice eater you gotta have an ice machine. I saw the reviews before purchasing because of the fact it would be delivered and not bought in a store, Sam's Club or Costco. I will be honest, it does make a noise but only when it's making ice and it's a normal sound, no screeching or loud whistling. I have not set up the water line yet because it only comes with the line no connectors. All in all, I honestly love the nugget ice it makes. It is definitely worth the purchase. At least it was for me. These things are man-made so it's bound to have a flaw sooner or later but as for now, it's awesome. Update: Okay I am a grown woman, I will admit when I am wrong. Yes my Lord Jesus this machine can screech like a banshie. This thing can get so loud it will make you RUN AND UNPLUG IT!!!! BUT I have good news. You can stop that sound. Apparently they make a powder that you can mix with water to CLEAN THE MACHINE. Apparently this cleaning solution that they use on the machine gets up in there and does its job well and then the machine goes back to normal. The reason why I am saying this is because I just bought the cleaning powder and cleaned the machine--it hasn't been loud since. So I am thinking that it is something in the stuff they use to make the machine running better. If it screech again. I will come back and update again.

After just 4 months, this unit started showing a black film inside. I use the recommended cleaner and run the clean cycle and after about 2 weeks the black film is back. And repeat. Terrible product for a high price. I had a much cheaper ice maker for 3 years and it never did this. Lesson learned. You don’t always get what you pay for!

Great ice, but it’s very hard to clean. It gets pink very fast and buildup on the walls. I clean it well every couple of weeks and descale it, but last time I cleaned it more gunk was coming out so I took it apart and the reservoir at the top is gross.

I read a ton of reviews on the 5 different ice makers we were in between buying. I am very glad we landed on this one. Here are the pros/cons: Pros: Ice is great & chewy Can hook to water for auto-fill Simple to use & clean Recycles melted ice to make more Makes ice fast Solid and nice looking Cons: Can be a little loud at times I would recommend this ice maker to anyone looking for chewy ice.
