I have wanted an espresso machine forever but thought they would always be way too big for my small house with a very small kitchen. Well it turns out, there are smaller ones like this. It fits perfectly on my counter while being able to do everything I need it to. This is incredibly well engineered. It does exactly what it supposed to with as little fuss and bother as possible. I know there are some out there with all the bells and whistles but all I want is a yummy drink without having to go to a coffee shop. I prefer a simple, well designed appliance that does its job. And that's what this one is. I've never used one before and not really even paid attention while my coffee was being made at a coffee shop so I'm a completely newbie. My 13 year old had it set up and ready to go (following the instructions in the manual) in about 15 minutes from when it arrived. We had a brief confusion because you have to make hot water run through it to get up enough pressure to do the espresso. Once we'd figured that out and how to make it happen (see labeled photo), it was easy and we both had our favorite drinks. The only reason I got confused is that I was trying to understand it instead of just following the instructions, lol. If I'd just followed the instructions, I wouldn't have had any issues at all. I usually use a Moka pot at home because I do not like the flavor of brewed coffee at all. But this is sooooooo much better. You get the correct flavor and texture in the espresso, the full sensory experience. You can make milk foam. Everything I need in a very compact and simple to use machine. This is definitely a "special treat" activity for us at this point because it's so novel but in reality, if the coffee is already ground it's only a few minutes to make. It has very few parts to go wrong, which is exactly the kind of appliance I prefer. I checked everything I'd have to clean and maintain and it's all simple to get to and do. It comes with peel and stick instructions that are repositionable so I put those inside the door of the cupboard over the machine. But it's simple to use so I doubt I'll be looking at those again. I'm thrilled to finally have my dream espresso machine!

The media could not be loaded. This is a great beginner espresso machine, or for those that like espresso without some of the hassle. Also a great machine if one's space is limited. I had an early version of this Gevi machine and it was my very first espresso machine. I have now upgraded to a more elaborate Gevi espresso machine, but absolutely loved my first machine. It was still working great when I upgraded, so I really didn't need a new machine. This machine is very beginner friendly. Gevi includes a book that is very helpful and actually makes sense, and I always keep my Gevi instruction manuals and refer back to them when needed. I ordered this machine for our cabin. Others can easily make their own espresso, as this is very simple to operate. And I just don't have the room for a full sized machine at the second home. This is sleek, compact and easy to clean. This machine has an upgraded steam wand from my original machine. It swings out more and just does the work for you. It may be my favorite part of the machine now. Some additional attachments may be ordered, so one could use pods. I haven't tried that, but it does add to the functionality and versatility of this machine. This machine also has a pre-infusion function, which applies a bit of water for a few seconds to sort of warm them up prior to extraction. This does, in my opinion, make a fuller tasting pull. It does come programed with a single or double shot button, but one can hold the button to make a manual shot. Also, the automatic milk frother can be operated manually, if one so desires. So one can just push buttons and pull a shot, or one can experiment and play around with different options. And that is what makes this such a great machine. Easy and versatile. Also this is my, fifth Gevi purchase. One was a wedding gift, one a automatic drip coffee machine, but the rest for my household and so far (knock on wood) my machines have operated as they are supposed to and continue to do so - my first for several years. The machine is super easy to clean as well and the instructions are clear to understand. Even though this machine is upgraded from my first, I do believe it comes at a cheaper price, though my first included a separate coffee grinder. I think it is reasonably priced, and making your own coffee will cut down on time and money at the coffee shops. I make a double shot frappe each morning with my protein powder each morning. If one is purchasing this, I would recommend buying a 51mm puck to go with this machine. I just really think pucks help keep espresso machines clean and coffee grounds get into everything. A clean machine will work more efficiently and helps with wear and tear. My opinion of course, and I have always used pucks with my machines.
