    • Would NOT Recommend This Coffee Maker!

I needed a new coffee maker after my old one died, but I can't complain too much since I had used it for over 6 years. Plus, no one wants to see me without coffee!🤣 I had to wait almost 2 weeks beyond what the original delivery date had stated for this to arrive, and when it did it was safely packed in a durable box with good inner packaging. I read through the instruction booklet from cover to cover because I had never before had a coffee maker with so many features. Before the first use with making actual coffee, I ran a full pot of water through 3 times (new water each time) to try and get rid of any nasty things that might be left behind from the manufacturing process. Right from the first time plugging this machine into the wall outlet, I knew something was wrong. The instruction manual told about setting the clock, yet no matter what I tried, I was never given this ability. I did the 3 runs, and then unplugged the machine until it was time to use it the next morning. Again, plugged in the machine, still no option for setting the clock, even after turning the machine on and off several times. Since I seldom use the delay brew function, I just figured that it didn't matter that much to me. I made the changes to the menu trying to select the brew strength and such, most of the time having to touch a button multiple times before anything changed, and couldn't get the coffee to brew. I turned it back off and went to grab the manual to see what I was doing wrong. A few more times of on and off, and then even unplugging again to go sit down and read more carefully before another attempt. Not sure how I finally got it to brew, but it worked and the coffee tasted great. I was even impressed that the coffee was brewed rather quickly, even with the intensity and infusion both set to high. I drank my cup of coffee and went back for my second cup within 30 minutes, only to be shocked that the warming pad had already shut off. I made sure to set the warming to 3 hours and 59 minutes the next morning, and figured that my changing that setting must have also changed the desired brewing settings. I selected by desired brewing again, and again took a few tries to get the brew going, and yet again went back for my second cup within 30 minutes of the brewing stopping, again to find the warming tray and the machine turned completely off. I then decided to move this coffee maker into my home office to keep a better eye on it. In my office this machine was plugged into an outlet that not only had a conditioner on it to prevent over and under voltages, but it also has a battery backup incase of any brown/black-outs. Over the next several uses I found that the machine would shut off anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours and 20 minutes after the brewing process stopped, no matter what time was selected for the keep warm function. (The freaky thing is to watch the bars that are meant to show the time left for the warming tray to jump from the first flashing bar, to the next, the third, and then the last when it only stays on for the 10 minutes!) This machine does not remember what your previous settings were, which according to the Gevi support team is not a function of this coffee maker, which really made me regret the $100 I spent when all other coffee makers seem to have this as a standard feature. Speaking of the support team, I had reached out to them concerning the multiple issues with this coffee maker, and not only the statement and this maker not having something that $20 coffee makers have, but they also told me that I needed to descale the warming plate. Ummm... WHAT?!?! They really want me to pour water and descaling solution into the electronic parts of this machine? Or did they want me to unscrew the entire machine and try to clean the unserviceable parts? Also, even though I had clearly told them my purchase date, and that I had only used this machine about 16 times, they are telling me that it already needs to be descaled? Anyone who even knows the very basics of electronics would know that there is obviously something seriously wrong with the control board in this coffee maker! Yes, this coffee maker looks fancy and high-tech, as the nice 12-cup pot, makes good tasting coffee, but it isn't easy to use and you waste too much time just trying to get it to brew. On top of that, if you still have to nuke your coffee every morning anyway, save your hard-earned money and go with a better brand! Got this on Prime Day. It was a great deal. I previously had a Ninja Drip Maker. After about a week of using the Gevi, I'm still on the fence. The functionality is SUPER confusing. It's nicely made, but too many options. For some reason our coffee comes out much stronger in this machine as well. It's just a little too complicated. Pluses: holds plenty of water for extra capacity, brews quickly, size is nice on the counter. ... show more

    • Choose Another Coffee Maker: Inaccurate Clock and Non-Functional Warmer Timer

While this coffee maker looks nice and brews a good cup of coffee, the clock loses about 2 minutes per day! I set the clock 3 days ago and it's already lost 5 minutes. In a month, the clock will be off by about 50 minutes so good luck with the programmable brew function. Also, the warmer can be set up to 3 hrs and 59 mins but inconsistently shuts off prematurely every time. The warmer never stayed on anywhere near the programmed time. ... show more
