  • Took longer than 48 minutes but so what
This rack worked out great on my 2012 Ridgeline. It's easy to install - the only tools you really need are a T-25, a measuring tape, and a hacksaw. You'll need to dig out the installation instructions online - there's an official Honda installation document as well as a video. Those were very useful - the only thing not obvious was that you are supposed to remove and discard the grey plastic clips that are on the bolts, so it's ok if you break them taking them out. The video says it should take 48 minutes to install. It took me significantly longer than that, but I wasn't in a hurry and had all afternoon. It is definitely not hard, anyone could do it. I can now haul my SUP on top of my truck easily. BTW, the Dakine Long Aero Rack Pads -28" work well on this rack although they don't go the full width of the truck (but they're just right for a SUP or a single kayak). ... show more

  • Great Price and snap to install
My Ridgeline did not come with a Luggage rack so I called my local dealership to see if I could purchase one over the counter. They had one in stock, but it would cost me $375. So I decided to take a chance and see if Amazon had such an item. Much to my surprise, there was a vendor that sold one through amazon.com. It was $297 and because of my amazon prime membership the shipping was FREE. The box was very large as you can imagine and it came via FEDEX which normally would have cost a fortune to where I live in Hawaii. Winner all the way as far as that goes.....As for the installation part, it was very easy. The instructions were simple to follow, take your time while measuring and cutting the existing roof molding ( I had no pneumatic air saw by a fine tooth hack saw work nicely) to avoid making a mistake. I found this video on youtube to be very helpful and a confidence builder before taking on the task. Watch it a couple of times before starting. See video:[...] Now our Ridgeline looks complete and we save some money doing it through amazon and by myself. ... show more

  • Purchase a power hacksaw.
Product arrived as ordered. No instructions. You will need to search the internet. The instructions you will find will not be entirely clear. The dimensions on the instructions are correct but the diagram is confusing. Ignore the diagram sizing of the cuts. Just follow the lengths of the cuts. You will need a millimeter tape measure. Biggest challenge for me was getting the correct hacksaw. Don’t use a manual one. Power hacksaw is best. You need the correct tools. Total cost of tools is around 10-50 dollars. Total time for installation is 1 hour if you have the tools, to 3 hours. If I did it again tomorrow, it would take 1 hour. Pretty simple if you have the right tools. ... show more

  • Awesome!
I could not wait to install this product on my 2006 Ridgeline. The instructions for installing says the it was designed for a professional to install, but, don't believe that, anyone that is handy around the house can do it. I followed the instructions and used all of the recommended tools except the Air Saw. I used a Jigsaw instead with a metal cutting (smooth cut) blade to cut the roof trim to size and it worked out just fine. A word of caution, if you are not familiar with metic measurements, get a measuring tape at least 600 mm long. I had a 12 in ruler with metic conversions, just be aware that on some rulers 100 mm will read 10 on the metic scale. Use a mm to in conversion calculator to keep your measurement honest. ... show more

  • Exactly as pictured, husband is very greatful
Purchased this as a gift for my husband. He was like a kid on Christmas..... the box had a sticker that stated that no instructions were included and they could be downloaded, I assume this is so you take it to a Honda dealer for service..... but my husband installed it without the directions by himself in about an hour. It looks great, is very strong and is exactly the quality you would expect. Highly recommended. ... show more
