The humidifier has a very small footprint - envision the size of one of those Stanley tall cups - easily fits upon a nightstand. Instructions are easy to understand, and it’s simple to use. It is almost silent - I mean you can’t even hear it when trying. It does a nice job with airflow, providing two modes - continuous air flow and 10-second intervals of intermittent air/pause. The unit also has an incorporated nite-lite in the base that can be turned off when not wanted. I thinks it’s a good, solidly built device. My only caveat is the space it covers.     • THE BEST humidifier I have ever owned!!
A friend was raving how much she loved her new Geniani humidifier so I had to jump on this wagon and get one for my own. I noticed after using it only one night with it running a couple feet away from my bed, that I woke up feeling more refreshed and had a deeper sleep. Without humidifiers I often wake up with a very dry throat, due to some snoring and the dry air in my room from a heater running. But not the first morning after having the Geniani running on intermittent mode (I like how there's a sleeping function to turn off the power light) - I believe the air was so much more moist that my throat was taken care of during the night. This Geniani machine has so many incredible features that I could write several paragraphs on it. So I'm going to list the essential pros that I personally enjoy the most: - It's QUIET - I don't hear any motor noises unlike other competitors' ones. - During hotter days, the cool gentle mist feels amazing and cooling when it falls onto my skin and wafts past my face and head. I don't have air conditioning in my apartment, so when summer arrives and the heat swelters outside and my room becomes stuffy, I can't wait to have this machine near my chair when I'm chilling or watching movies and experience its cool down effects. - Sooo Easy to refill. I use distilled or ultra filtered water and you just pour new water into the top refill opening (even while it's still running). Or I can easily just lift the top off and add water there. Older and other models I have used in the past have been very messy with water splashing everywhere when trying to carry the basin to the sink and back to the base. The Geniani is very well-thought out and I can tell the inventor has put great care in its production. - The air in my room feels much more clean and my lungs feel healthier. - I practice hot yoga and now with shelter in place orders due to COVID-19, I have no studio to go to and have to practice in my room on Zoom. This humidifier has helped me create an atmosphere similar to my hot and humid Bikram yoga studio. I simply crank up the heater in my room and put the Geniani next to my yoga mat and it feels like I am in a virtual humid yoga room again - and when I'm laying down in savasana at the end of class and looking up at the Geniani perched on my barstool above my head, I see the glorious cooling mist, ever so gently gliding down onto my face...like a slow motion waterfall...wispy cooling clouds, helping me relax and I smile knowing I have truly invested in a great product.     • Pink mold is a huge issue
I’ve had this humidifier for 5 months. At first I thought it was great! It worked well, had great output, easy to fill, and a full tank lasted a long time. I made sure to use filtered or distilled water, and I changed out the water every day. I cleaned the unit once a week as directed by the instructions, using the method they outlined. After about 6-8 weeks I noticed pink mold at the bottom of the mist outlet valve. There is no way to access the valve, as the unit does not come apart in that area. I used a toothbrush to reach up inside the valve to clean it. I finished cleaning the unit, reassembled it, and started it up again. Two days later I noticed the pink mold was back. This time I contacted the company to see if they could offer some insight on how to get rid of the mold. I was told to do exactly what I had already done. I did it again, only this time I let the unit sit to dry out for a few weeks before I used it again. Once again the pink mold returned within two days. I contacted the company again and they suggested soaking the unit in vinegar for 20 minutes and then using a brush to remove the pink mold. I did as directed, cleaning the unit thoroughly, and then started it up again. This time within a few hours, the pink mold returned. I had now had enough and I contacted the company to ask how to go about returning the unit for a refund as I was way past the amazon return window. I was told I could return it and get a refund, but shipping would be at my expense. Shipping turns out to be $24! Nearly half the cost of the unit. Do not but this humidifier. If it develops mold, you will not be able to take it apart to adequately clean it. Then when you try to return it, the company will make you pay for return shipping. I am extremely disappointed in this unit and the company. ... show more
