Item was a gift for an aspiring baker. I compared lots of mid-grade mixers but choose this one because it seemed more sturdy than the others and I was right. It holds up to mixing bread dough well and has made gluten-free baking much easier. They especially love the splatter shield and the handle on the mixing bowl. After reading countless reviews for stand mixers, I chose the GE in Saphire Blue. It's not too heavy and can be carried from the storage closet to the counter easily. The color is very pretty and a nice change from the usual white; the bowl is a nice large size and the beaters are easy to attach and detach. It's powerful enough for my mixing needs so far (haven't tried the dough hook yet). It seems as though all the reviews compare stand mixers to the Kitchen Aid. That was way out of my budget and this one is, in my opinion, great value for the money. I'm very happy with this mixer! ... show more
