Not sure why toaster designs now have the power cord coming out the side. If you have the buttons facing out towards you, the cable comes out the side of the toaster. Why not have the cord come out the back? Outside of the cord location, the rest of the toaster is good. The toaster toasts fast compared to other ones I have used. Crumbs are easy to clean out with the trays under the toaster. The look of the toaster works well with stainless steel appliance kitchens. I purchased this one after not finding anything made in the USA. What can I say, it's a toaster. The toasting isn't really even but it works. Sometimes it works like a charm, but on other occasions, it struggles to toast frozen items consistently. It's a minor inconvenience that may require some trial and error to get the desired results. This GE toaster is a gem. I’ve been looking for a four place toaster that can toast evenly and handle bagels. The slots are nice and wide for bagels and toast amazingly even. It is not exceptionally deep but standard size bread fits nicely. Love it. The order it emits from being new left after I turned it on about four times . It does get hot, but most toasters do.
