Installation was extremely simple. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and within just a few minutes, the unit was up and running. It started cooling the space almost immediately after turning it on. As I sit here doing this review, the room is so cold that I feel like I might need to put on a jacket indoors. That is the kind of performance you hope for but rarely get with a window unit. The noise level was exactly as advertised. You do not hear the mechanical sounds you usually expect with traditional window AC units. There is no rattling or loud compressor noise. Instead, the only thing you hear is the steady flow of air moving through the system. It is not silent, but it is smooth and consistent, more like the sound of a strong fan than a mechanical unit. In fact, when I compared it side by side with my central air conditioning system, the central system was noticeably louder. That really surprised me, especially given how powerful the cooling performance of this unit is. The SmartHQ app setup was straightforward. Creating a profile and connecting the device took just a few minutes. Once connected, the app makes it easy to adjust temperature settings, schedule operation times, and even turn the unit on or off remotely. This adds a lot of convenience, especially if you are managing different cooling needs throughout the day. The inverter technology really shines compared to older models I have used. Traditional air conditioners tend to cycle on and off, which wastes energy and creates more noticeable temperature swings. Inverter technology allows the compressor to run at variable speeds, maintaining a consistent temperature without large fluctuations. This is why the unit stays so quiet and efficient. Right now, I am running it at 65 degrees and it is pulling about 0.042 kilowatt-hours, which is highly efficient for a unit cooling a mid-sized room. Over time, this level of efficiency can translate to noticeable energy savings compared to standard fixed-speed units. The unit fit easily into my window. Setup was easy. It cools better than I expected it to. I hope it is as energy efficient as it is supposed to be, because it should really save me some money if it is, since I am replacing a much older window unit. I ordered this one for my bedroom, but ended up using it to cool my entire mobile home. I will likely still need a bedroom backup for the really hot spells, but I am delighted with this thing. It is so quiet I didn't even think it was on at first. It looks better than most window units. The remote is very handy. It, too, is white, which makes it easy to spot when I need it. I haven't connected it to WiFi or anything because I haven't had a need to, but it's nice to know I can. I like this unit so much I actually bought a smaller AC from the same manufacturer. Excellent window AC unit. We have multiple properties and the annoying thing is none of the other window AC units we have can connect to wifi, so if you forget to turn it off or others leave it on your bill can go up pretty quick. This is a game changer, and actually I didn't even know window units had this ability before I found this! It's strong and pretty quiet; by far the best window AC unit I've used (most have been older, and frankly I haven't used a ton). As mentioned in other reviews there are some downsides. The touch buttons make it really easy to shut off the wifi on accident. Then you have to pair again. Nice and cool and noticeably more quiet than old ac units I've had but I can't compare to other quiet ones because this is my first.

Thus is a great window a/c for smaller rooms. We have one small room upstairs that gets extra hot in out house and needs a boost of colder air and this fills it up perfectly with nice cool air. It went from the hottest room in the house to the coldest. We do keep the room door closed most of the time but even when it's open the room is very cool and comfortable. It was as easy to install as any 2nd story window install could be (so not that easy, but not bad either). Took 2 of us but we managed fine. I'm happy with the end results. ... show more

Sometimes in life we put off getting the thing we know we need until, strictly speaking, you've waited too long. Like, maybe the old one is still functioning? But it's clear it's beyond its best before date. That how it was for us with the air conditioner at out cottage. And we're in Arizona and with the hot season coming at us fast, we knew it was time to get the air conditioning thing handled. And so now we have. The beauty of putting off a replacement until its nearly too late is just how much you appreciate the new one. The old one was basically a swamp cooler. This GE PROFILE inverter is like we traded in our ancient beater for a Maserati. Or at least a Cadillac. This one has everything. I'm not even sure how to use it all yet! Not only does it have a remote, it also connects to the WIFI and has an app so you can program it remotely. (That's the part we're still figuring out!) My husband and a friend did the install using the install kit that is included with the device. They said it was not difficult and now we are happily cool even before we really get to need it.
