A few things that may help others when making this decision to buy a Clearview AC 1. I noticed that a few people have referenced the small barely visible light flashing near the filter vent screen and thinking that the unit is defective. This light will illuminate and flash if your wifi connection fails or if the unit is not connected to your network. You must download the SmartHQ app and allow your network to connect to your air conditioner and after you connect, the light will go out. 2. Noise and vibration. After you have installed your new ac, you may notice noise outside. This is purposeful and the noise isn’t crazy loud at all. It is on par with an average window ac unit. A couple of things to consider about the vibration. After installing the ac and tightening up the built in clamps, you can expect to have vibration if you are installing the ac in a house that has vinyl siding or possibly even stucco. Consider installing a piece of rubber under the adjustable stabilizer screws where the foot of the clamp meets your home’s exterior. A great source of rubber would be from a bicycle tire tube. Cut a 4-6 inch section of the tube and fold it over a few times and place under the clamp foot. The clamp foot is about the size of a quarter and by folding the section of rubber over a few times, you have just created a dampener that will absorb and eliminate any vibration and it will be small enough to barely see unless you are looking for it. A tube for a bicycle or tricycle can be had for a few dollars. It doesn’t have to be big or does it doesn’t have to be perfect. As far as the performance of the 10,300 btu clear view ac, it is ultra quiet and very efficient. It cools quicker than the non inverter models. The air is ice cold and will adjust to 64 degrees F. I am extremely satisfied with my choice in this unit as it does everything you would want and expect in an air conditioner. Going with the inverter equipped model was smart. It will save you money and it will not cost you in the way of performance. By choosing the inverter model, there won’t be any surges when the ac begins to cycle. This means that there won’t be issues with your new ac tripping a breaker if you plug in a vacuum cleaner. The thing is a beast. If I had to buy it again, I would. Easy 5 stars. *Buy the bicycle tube or a mud flap and use it if you have siding outside. You will thank me. Also, if the unit has been placed on its side or upside down for any reason, delivery etc., please turn the unit upright for at least 30 minutes to allow the oils to seep back down onto the parts that need to be lubricated. Noisy and unreliable. We bought this with reasonable expectations. Quiet inverter for low noise and reliability. Wanted uninstructed view out window like I had with my previous ac. That was the Midea saddle unit like this. That was junk as well. It had a mold recall and went in trash under their recall order. Got refund and purchased this GE since all our other GE products have been good. Wrong choice again. This unit cooled okay to begin with but it causes the wall to vibrate on any setting other than just fan mode.once compressor turns on the vibrating of the wall starts. Used it for 2 months last summer. This summer same issue and now more noises. Clunking and ticking along with the vibration. Also doesn’t cool very well at all now. I called GE with one day left on warranty and requested service under warranty. Got an email saying they would schedule an appointment. 2 weeks and no call or email. Called again and new representative says they can’t send repair tech since under warranty. What? They only repair under extended warranty. Also they can’t get compressor pumps anyway. Tariff problems most likely. So they will offer you a mail in rebate form in mail that takes 2 weeks to arrive. Then they expect you to buy with your own money only another GE product. Then send in the rebate paperwork and receipt and wait 6-8 weeks for payment. Sounds fair? Not so much. Being retired seniors we don’t have an extra $500 to layout and wait 2 months for payment. You’d think GE would allow you to purchase a new unit from them with the rebate certificate they send and eliminate all the headaches and paperwork and waiting for payment you shouldn’t have to make. It’s their flawed product. So unless you have disposable income stay away from this ac unit. Or you’ll be sitting in the heat regretting your purchase.. Not happy with this purchase or resolution offered by GE. Another great business model. Take your money and when product fails they force you to buy another one and start the cycle all over again. I'm not sure why this product isn't ranked higher. Omg, it's AMAZING. My old window AC unit was so loud, this one just purrs. I don't have to always change the volume on the TV, it's that quiet. It keeps the room nice and cold. Easy set up, but muscle is needed. You don't have to worry about drainage inside. You do have to check the water filter on the side and the air filter in the front, when the light blinks. A big energy saver as well. My bill is down 200 a month with this AC. In less than a year it stopped pumping the condensation water to the outside part of the unit, this causes a P1 Error code and it stops cooling. Despite regularly cleaning the filters. I called GE because it is still under warranty. There are aparently no GE service techs in my area, so the website would not schedual me any service and told me to call. So I call and go through the automated phone system. Will not let me talk to a human and tells me again that there are no service techs in my area and hangs up. The warrenty runs out in several days and i'm sure they won't honor the warranty since the time will run out by the time I get a service tech that is out of their system over to fix it. When the unit was working, it worked well. My room is pretty dusty so I'm sure something got clogged, but that is what filters are supposed to be for. I should not have to dissaseble my unit to fix it. I will note that the drain plug on the inside of the unit that hoses the water filter, when you remove it, they watter will pore out and the unit will turn back on. So if you are desperate, you can put a bucket under the unit to keep it operating. (EDIT) So I called again and ignored the automated system and kept pressing 0 and eventually got to talk with a person. I got a case number and had to call a customer relations number, I got forwarded one more time and was able to get a service appointment covered under the warranty. I'll be watching close with this repair so I know what to do if it gets clogged again when out of warranty. I will note, that the room with the airconditioner is very dusty with unpacked boxes. This might not be a normal issue with a normal room that is properly cleaned. ... show more

I'm very happy with this A/C. Its powerful enough to cool down my entire first floor, and its pretty silent. Especially compared to the old 13000 btu it replaced. You can actually have a conversation even when the unit is at full blast. Super easy to install. There is a minor vibration but i'll take that over pure noise anyday. The inverter setup is cool. It keeps the room cool without having the A/C having to choose being at either 100% or 0%. Feels like a central A/C almost. Very happy. ... show more

I would give it a lower review but when it works it works good. After installing the ac did good for a few weeks. I use it to cool my son's bedroom down at night. It only needs to run for about 8 hours a day. Now there are 2 issues with it. It will randomly stop cooling. If you turn it off and back on it will go back to cooling. But that is not what you want to have to do at 3 am when your sleeping. The other issue is it will randomly start clicking / ticking. I thought that maybe the tank was full. We emptied it. still clicking. Buy something else!!!!! ... show more

Does not crank as much as some cheaper window AC’s I have gotten before. Only really good for a bedroom. It is quiet but because it’s so quiet it’s not producing a ton of air even on high. Also makes an unnecessary beeping sound when it reaches its temperature setting.

This GE Profile inverter window AC has been a huge upgrade over a traditional window unit. The inverter compressor makes a noticeable difference — it cools the room quickly while staying much quieter than older ACs I’ve owned. Once the target temperature is reached, it maintains it smoothly instead of constantly blasting on and off. The ClearView design is also nice because it doesn’t block as much of the window or natural light compared to standard units. Installation took a little time because of the size and weight, but the instructions were straightforward overall. I’ve also noticed lower noise during sleep and better energy efficiency during long Florida heat days. Wi-Fi/app controls are convenient for adjusting settings remotely or setting schedules. If you want a modern window AC that’s quieter, more efficient, and feels more premium than the average unit, this one has been worth it. ... show more
