  • so cool! works great with the cync app and google assistant
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
The color range is good. There's a range of the blue color that has an almost blacklight effect. I've been using the same three regular single color Cync bulbs in the living room for several years, so I'm not worried about longevity, etc. I got these RGB bulbs for two bedrooms. So. Freaking. Cool. The google assistant only understands base colors, so for fine tuning color you need to use the Cync app manually. So far Google has been able to use primary colors, plus teal, purple and pink AND some of the Cync lighting effects (Vegas, party, etc). I still have a lot of testing to do to map out all the capabilities, but sometimes Google Assistant "doesn't understand" a color or effect request - "Ok google, set bedroom 1 to red. Ok Google set bedroom 1 to 50%" "Ok Google, set all lights to 30%" etc, etc. Speaking of the Cync app, setup is ridiculously simple and it updates the devices to the latest firmware when you first setup them up in the app. Integration with Google Assistant (and I'm assuming Alexa) is really simple as well. Also in the Cync app, the "routines" are fabulous. I have the living room lights set to come on at 40% at sunset (as determined by zip code) and go off at midnight. I set the bedroom lights to match the morning alarm times we have setup. The lights will come on to red a minute before my alarm sounds in the morning. (red is the best color, easiest on they eyes, to wake up to. that's science.) I'm really very happy with this purchase at the Prime Day price of $13, but it's easily worth the regular asking price. The only possible way these Cync A19 Smart LED bulbs could be better is if they had a 100W equivalent version, but I am happy with the 60W product. ... show more

  • One of the best smart bulbs in this price range
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
One of the best multicolor smart bulbs I have used in this price range. I mostly use the whites and the brightness is sufficient. The color mode is significantly less bright than the whites. The mobile app, at least on Android is well made and the setup is super easy. I have multiple of them and I never noticed that one of the bulbs was unable to connect to my WiFi as the other bulbs provide a mesh network for bulbs that are not able to connect to the network for some reason. It just works without the need to fiddle with it. I wish they came with support for 5GHz WiFi. Having to split the network every time for setup is a bit annoying but once it's done, I just merged the bands back and the bulbs have always worked. I have noticed that the Google Assistant sometimes forgets to operate 1 out of the many bulbs I have, but a quick nudge from the GE app restores the sync. ... show more

  • Essential kaleidoscope for the hearth
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
Smart bulbs are good for three things: Security, entertainment and comfort. Security because one can remotely turn on lights which can deter agents of the night. Entertainment because one can select a color to frame the mood including party flashing lights or subtle romantic ambiances. Comfort because the color and intensity of light can enhance the environment. I had always wanted them, and had my sights on the Phillips Hue smart bulb. When it comes to electronics, I've learned the hard way to only go with brands that I trust and recognize. The Phillips brand is a well known one, but the bulb was way too expensive. There are much cheaper bulbs but they are from obscure brands. And then I saw these. GE is a household name and these bulbs are far cheaper than the Phillips. When they arrived I followed the instructions, inserted the bulbs into their receptacles, turned them on and added them using the proprietary Cync app which I easily found and downloaded to my Android phone. I then added the two bulbs to the Google Home app on my phone. Now, turning on my home office light for example is as simple as commanding my Google Assistant to do so verbally. This answered the one question that I needed clarity on: whether I needed any hardware other than my phone to operate these bulbs. I do not. It has all the colors on the spectrum, and can imitate settings like the flickering of a candle or sunset. The light can be dimmed or enhanced in intensity. These are also rated to last 15 times longer than regular bulbs. The software could be better, and hence the reason for docking this review one point. The app doesn't always connect immediately and can get hung up. But it always eventually resolves itself. Also, it only seems to work with Google Home when I am within my home's WIFI range. But I can control the bulbs wirelessly from anywhere in the world including at home with the Cync app. Hence, I use either app to control the bulbs, depending on where I am. I am happy with the purchase. N.B. I bought both the A19 and the A21 models. The A19 model is the basic house bulb, rated at 60 watts. It worked in every receptacle I installed it in the house. The A20 is a slightly but noticeably larger bulb, both in height and diameter, rated for 100 watts. It is more selective, and would not work for my front porch. It is also significantly brighter than the A19. It's now my habit to turn on the family room light remotely if I am not home, so that my dog does not have to sit in the dark. ... show more

  • Incredible Product Incredible Product
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
They can be pretty sensitive when trying to set up with the app and require 2.4 WiFi but have not had issues with them. I love the scheduling and being able to adjust these to different white hues and different colors. I bought 1 initially then another 2. I have one on each side of the bed for my wife and I to use but are also in sync. Great product. The only bummer is that Siri does not work with the Cync app and there’s no way to link them. None of this requires a paid subscription. Lot of reviews from people who clearly struggle with technology. ... show more

  • Works well with google
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
I almost wrote the setup was easy - but not really. You need to set up in the cinc app then link to google home - but then you can use voice commands from there. It isn’t that bad but requires several steps. Once set up I love the lights. A couple things to note. The white light can be very bright but all colors are not as bright - to my eye I would say 1/3 as bright in maximum. Also, when you do a programmed setting like ‘rainbow’ there is only one brightness - not very bright. I did not find a way to brighten the standard settings like for rainbow. Also. Just to let you know you can use google to change bulb color (no app needed) - you just say hey google change the light to pink - or change the light to rainbow. Works really well - seems reliable (more reliable than earlier GE bulbs I had.) Regardless I am quite happy with the purchase and would purchase again. ... show more

  • Great Lamps and App Great Lamps and App
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
I was looking for a lamp the would stay connected to WiFi consistently as well as the app that controls the output. This GE lamps remains to be doing a good staying on line. The app is easy and simple to operate with unlimited amount of different colors or use standard color 2700 - 6500 Kelvins adjustment. I have uploaded pictures of the app and it’s ability to control with showing lighting output. I have two lamps in the dining room as well. All the lamps come on automatically and shut off too. They are connected to Alexa if you to use verbal commands to turn or off. The work great for table lamps and floor lamps. If use a ceiling fixture the switch will have to remain in the on position. Gets confusing if you turn the ceiling light on or off from two or more locations For past month the lights have remained consistent and I’m pleased. Have to remember your WiFi signal depends on functionality of the lamps. I have few dead spots in my home because I use an Asus AiMesh System I have been licensed electrical contractor since 1994. I will purchase again and recommend these lamps to everyone. ... show more

  • Bulbs work good with Alexa, but app is terrible
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
My first time installing these was pretty easy, I just downloaded the app and followed the instructions and was able to connect them to Wi-Fi alright. They responded well to the app and I could do lots of stuff like change the brightness and color, save specific colors, change individual bulb settings, etc. the reason I bought the bulbs though was so I could set a schedule that would turn them on at a certain time with a certain color. It wasn’t too difficult to setup a schedule, and there were videos online to help, but whenever I set the schedule it didn’t go off. I started with ones just a few minutes in advance so that I could see them going off to make sure they worked, but they just weren’t coming on at the time I told it to. Eventually I set one and let it go for a bit, and it eventually came on like 10 minutes later. So I realized that they actually were working, the time just want synced well on the bulbs. I then tried to factory reset the bulbs to see if setting them up again would fix the time issue. This process wasn’t to bad but you have to watch the video to figure out how to reset them. When I tried to set them back up though, there was always one bulb that wouldn’t connect to Wi-Fi. I tried like 5 times resetting them and trying to set them back up, and each time one of the bulbs wouldn’t connect. I eventually let it alone for a day and tried again, and thankfully it worked. I figured out that if I let the bulb run for too long I think something with it being to hot interferes with the Wi-Fi setup. So if you are having problems with connecting the Wi-Fi, let it cool down a bit and then quickly set it up right after you turn them on. Still after resetting them several times, there was always some weird problem with the scheduling feature that wouldn’t work the way I wanted them too. So eventually I just connected them to Alexa and setup a schedule through the Alexa app. This has worked fantastically and without any problems. You might have to set multiple schedules in order to accomplish something though because there are less features you can do through the Alexa app. For example if you want the light to come on at a low brightness and ramp up with a different color, then you have to use two schedules for changing the color and doing the brightness ramp. Also note that if the bulb has physically been turned off with the switch, it must be turn back on for a few minutes before Alexa can find it and control it. Overall these bulbs have done what I need them too through the Alexa app, but I have not found the Cync app to be useful beside just changing the brightness and color manually. If these bulbs are on sale they may be worth it because they are cheap, but I would look elsewhere first for a bulb with a better app integration. ... show more

  • Skeptic Turned GE Cync Fan! Skeptic Turned GE Cync Fan!
Style: Smart Direct Connect Bulbs Size: 2 Bulbs (Pack of 1)
GE LED lightbulbs have a checkered past with me. I definitely at one point swore off buying another GE LED lightbulb until I saw dramatic improvement and well, here I am using more GE LED bulbs. That said, my family has used our GE Cync bulbs daily for over six months and I basically have them all over my home both inside and outside and they've worked great. ►Setup: Setup is very easy even for the technologically disinclined individual. You simply download the GE Cync app from your favorite app store, screw in the bulb, and the app walks you through pairing. It's really that easy and having setup a lot of these bulbs in my house, I feel confident in stating that it's that easy every time. ►Cync App: The Cync app is an absolute must and it's a good idea to get familiar with it. Take some time to read up and do explore the brief intro it provides. You can control multiple houses from one app and create multiple rooms or areas, e.g. garage, kitchen, etc., all within the app. You're easily able to add other users as guests who can have full control of the attached bulbs and devices. If the app is frustrating you, I do recommend keeping things simple - do you need independent rooms/zones. Or would keeping it easier and just independently naming each bulb make life easier (within the app)? Another tip - make sure that your connected smart device, e.g. smartphone, is on the same wireless network as the Cync bulbs. Also, be sure that Bluetooth is enabled on the same device. ►Cync Bulbs + Color Options: My oldest Cync bulb has been going strong for 6+ months and is working great. Since then, I've outfitted my exterior garage lights, patio lights, exterior building lights (a detached building in my backyard), bedroom lights and more with these bulbs. My initial justification was the ability to control lighting whenever I'm not home. Since then I've been so impressed with Cync that I just purchased more bulbs for convenience and the RGB lighting controls. My wife and I love to liven up our home to match the current season. Over Halloween we set the Cync bulbs to an orange color to match the rest of our exterior decorations. Similarly we complimented our holiday décor with some festive red and green color on our Cync lightbulbs and we love it! ... show more
