Includes one replacement filter compatible with the GX1S01R system and made for simple and easy filter installation. Recommended replacement every 6 months or 3,000 gallons for fresh, filtered water. NSF/ANSI certified. From the Manufacturer The FXUTC GE Smart Water filter is a single-stage undersink water filter that is compatible with any brand of water filtration system that uses 9-3/4-Inch x 2-1/2-Inch filters. It filters out the less impurities than the FXULC or the FXUVC, but has a longer filter life (in gallons). The GE FXUTC SmartWater Undersink Filter Replacement Cartridge fits any brand of undersink water filter system that uses standard 9-3/4 x 2-1/2 filter cartridges.

Update: 1-6-15 I have this piped to a dedicated faucet on my sink for drinking and cooking pasta and the like so it lasts a long time. I change it every six months regardless to avoid bacteria build-up. When I got to this page, I saw this old review of mine. The price seemed high and after reading reviews from the rest of you guys, I went to my email where I save all of my Amazon receipts and discovered that in May of 2013 I paid 15 dollars for this same filter. Purchased two and got free shipping to boot. I found a comparable .5 micron filter on Amazon and I'll be purchasing these instead at 13.14 each. I'm sure the taste will be excellent. You can't beat this filter for the money. My water tastes great. It removed the chlorine taste and smell. Our water is safe to drink in my town so I don't need super micro filtration for organisms, lead or other contaminants. But the back of the label states this unit filters down to .5 microns which is as good as many high-priced filters out there(not 5 microns like most cheapo filters). This filter does the trick and the volume is good too. It doesn't restrict water flow hardly at all. People who buy spring water or filtered water at the store are spending hundreds of dollars a year when all they need is a filter like this one. I could put this water into a Poland Spring bottle and no one would be the wiser. My "spring" water costs a couple of cents per gallon. I have it piped into my fridge as well for my ice maker. Write the expiration date on the label and tape it to your filter housing. Replace at 6 months or earlier depending on flow. ... show more

This product is wonderful I’ve been waiting for my husband for months to change the water filter and I was like ya know what screw it iam going to get under the sink and see what I could do so I looked at it got the brand name and the number of the product I went on amazon and typed it in and bam there it was the filter I needed I ordered it and the price was crazy great!!! So I get the filter in a day later and that I was 🥰 it, so I get under the sink I’am like I can do this well at first I forgot to turn off the water and got drenched but the GREAT NEWS was that the filter was the easiest thing ever to instal I couldn’t even believe it Myself really cause nothing ever goes smooth for me ...! My city water is very hard and tastes terrible. My I tried just a charcoal filter and had better water flow but was bothered by all of the other contaminants such as cysts let in the water. So tried this filter which will filter out more of the contaminants. A relative installs it for me and he has a little more trouble installing it than the other one I used. The water tastes so much better and the filter lasts 6 months or a little over for me. Perfect for drinking, cooking, and for my pet. It does decease the cold water flow, but I am used to it The posit aspects win out over the flow rate. This is my fourth order. ... show more
