I’m currently remodeling my kitchen and wanted to add a feature that would make it feel a little more high end without spending an arm and a leg to do so. The GE Cync under-cabinet lights ended up being the perfect upgrade and one of my favorite installs. Installation was straightforward and they give off a clean, even light that makes a huge difference for both cooking and overall look of the kitchen. I really like that the lightning is fully adjustable, from subtle night light to full bright light to work on detailed tasks, and the color options are fun too. Most of the time I use warm white for cooking, but it’s nice to switch colors up for holidays, special occasions, having guests over, or just because. Yes, you can even have a disco if you want. My favorite feature is the smart home integration. I connected them to Google Home so I can control them along with all of my other lights and devices, instead of jumping between multiple different apps. The GE Cync app works well for setting up the lights. Voice control, routines, and automation worked as I expected and I have set up the lights to turn on at sunset at 30% and off at midnight to save energy. Overall the GE Cync lights made a difference in both the appearance and overall functionality of my new kitchen. If you're looking for a way to upgrade your kitchen lighting, I'd definitely recommend the GE Cync products!

These lights solved my under cabinet lighting dilemma. I have six cabinets that I wanted to have lighting but none of them were set up to connect multiple lights together. Found these and the smart feature solved it. I honestly wasn’t excited to add a new app to my phone but the app made the connecting SO simple. No flicking switches on and off over and over and all the other pains when installing smart lights. Just use the connection feature and it finds all the lights prompts you to name them and build a group. Then is nice enough to ask if you want to add to Google Home or Alexa. I love all the brightness and color options. Very pleased with these. Totally worth the price.

No more having to replace power supplies for my old led strips!! I had led strips for my "undercabinet" lighting for my desk. Lights were great and never had an issue with them, but I'd bet I had replaced 6-8 power supplies that failed since installing them. After the last one failed of my batch of three that I bought, I went hunting for a new light source. I was done. I found this unit and decided to give it a shot since it was a smart device and compatible with Alexa. Easy installation - You can either hard wire it to your electrical supply, or use the enclosed power cord. I opted for the power cord for my particular situation. WARNING: From what I gather if you prep the unit for hardwiring, once you pop off the cover and fittings there is no going back. You can't then choose to use the power cord. Make sure you are for sure hard wiring before removing anything. Power cord easily slides into its port and connects. There is only one way that it can go in. You can connect I think 6 of the 24" bars together on one power cord. You can choose to connect with a provided cable if you need space between each unit or you can connect them right next to each other using the butt connector supplied. I chose side by side. There is also a cap for the connection opening for the end unit so its not left open. Connection is a breeze. Same concept as the power cord. Only goes in one way and snaps in place. You can easily tell which end goes which way because it is clearly marked with input and output at each connector. Mounting screws are included and built right into the unit. No screws falling out, dropped hardware, etc. All around easy and convenient. Setup - This also was super easy. Initial setup is needed using the Cync app before its ready to be added to any smart home hubs or systems. Once it was setup with Cync, Alexa easily found the device and added it for me. From there I was able to create the routines and manage the settings I wanted. No try/fail/try/fail/try/success with either light like I have experienced with other smart devices. Just make sure your phone is connected to your 2.4Ghz wifi network which is standard for any smart home device I've ever connected. Size - 24" was a good length for my application. The unit is wider than I would like but not an issue and easily overlooked with its other features. I bought one to start with because I wasn't sure if two would fit under my desk armoire cabinet top. Yes, I could have measured the cabinet but I wasn't sure if the 24" was the entire light with enclosure or just the light bar or how much room I needed for the power cord sticking out the side. I got the first one, installed, measured and there was enough room for another unit so I bought the 2nd. Value - this is where it gets a little weird. The first one I bought was $38.66. Obviously I thought it was worth it and with the features it has it was more so. Then I went to go buy the second unit the day after I installed it. Suddenly it is no longer listed on the product page. Only the 12" and 18". They were only a few dollars less than the 24" so buying two 12" units wasn't optimal. Everywhere else I looked online, including GE's website, they were selling anywhere from $60 to $90. No way. A couple days later it reappeared on the product page, but for $66. Nope....not going to pay double. Finally found it on Lowe's for $36 and bought the 2nd one. A day later Lowe's prices nearly doubled. So weird. But, I'm happy with both for what I paid. Features - typical LED light with the ability to change colors, brightness, cool/warmth of the white lighting. It has some built in "Light Shows" that you can set which are cool novelties but I doubt I will ever use them

Absolutely a great under cabinet light. I couldn’t find anything even close to what this light offers at any price, but this was a great price for what you get. I had a 48 inch wide cabinet above and was thinking I should have bought the next size longer, but this puts out the perfect amount of light. The linking app works great and it’s very easy to change colors and brightness through the app. The light remembers the last setting and stays that way until you change it. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Ok, I just installed my 5th cync GE Reveal HD+ Smart light. I got the first one a few weeks ago and installed it and it has worked really well. I installed 4 more in the last 3 days. First physical installation. there are two installation methods, using the wall plug or hard wiring. Using the wall plug I can install one of these under one of my cabinets in about 3 minutes flat using a electric drill to drive the built in screws into the underside of the cabinet. The screw are not very sharp on the tip and trying to do this with a screwdriver is very frustrating. So a fail on getting the screws started. However using a drill, turn the speed down a little bit and push up hard and it goes rikki tikki. I mounted one of these using the hard wire method. It sucks. There is a tiny plate with a tiny opening that has two very small wires with fixtures on the end that you can slide your wires into to connect it. You have to do this through a small hole in the tiny plate that has a strain relief fitting that comes with the light. Then you have to push the end of your larger house wire and those to small connection fittings back into the body of the light and attach the tiny plate again. There is no room in the light or not enough for this to happen easily. I couldn't get it stuffed in there and ended up with it connected but not neatly attached back to the fixture. You can't see it but it really irked me that it isn't right. If you have wiring large than 12/2 the connectors wont work period. my 12/2 wiring slid in very snugly and it did work, so I like the friction grip fixture for that. Don't like the minuscule hole and plate that all the wiring is supposed to go into. My advice would be to the some 16 to 24 gauge wire and put it between your house wiring and the fixture. It's a cludge but better than using 12 or 10 gauge. Mount it using the provide cable that can plug into a wall socket. Click, plug, done. Then its on you to do cable management in running the cable neatly. I use Homeassistant for my home automation. These are matter compatible lights and they just work. Make sure you get the Matter version of the light if you are using home assistant. There is no app, no registering the light no anything but going into home assitant, installing the matter service in home assistant and then you go to your homeassistant app on your phone chose add device, pick matter, and then it wants to use your camera to scan the QR code on the light. At that point take the light (before you install it is easier) and plug it in to the wall somewhere convenient to work. It will come on just from plugging it in. You need to hold the power button down for 10 seconds or until the light starts flashing. This factory resets it. You shouldn't have to do this with a new light but of three of them new that I tried to install in home assistant they couldn't be found by the app until I factory reset them. It's no big deal, take 10 seconds to do that first and it will find and add the light in about 40 seconds. Once it is added, mount it under your cabinet, plug it in and your done. After the first one that I hard wired and it took 20 minutes the rest using the plug in method are down to 3 to 5 minutes including adding to homeassitant. As far as I can tell all the functions of the light are supported in home assistant in easy GUI interface to dim, change colors, turn on and off etc.. They have the full range of dimming down to 1%. ok.. something to note.. these are designed to use standard hold school house wiring with a positive, negative and ground. Modern houses use 4 wires and these would work with them but I have an old house with the older house wiring using 12/2 wiring. A lot of automation wall switches and such just wont work with the older wiring standard. They need the second power line to keep power on the switch when the light is off. These were a really good and cheap alternative for me to have lights that work totally off the grid on my network and give us full control of them you end up leaving the wall switches off and using the on off button on the light itself which is supper easy to do or using the app. So it gives us in effect local control by hand and remote control. one note about the home assistant app. If your allowing it to track your presence at home, the matter add device routine fails and gives a warning and asks you to turn that off. Not sure what that is about but simply turning it off for a bit works. I am not the master of using the full capabilities of homeassistant but these were the easiest things I have setup in it so far. summary, works great. Hard wiring sucks mounting screws are hard to drive due to not initially biting in. Once they bite it is easy. setting up with matter and home assistant is one of the easiest methods I have done. factory reset the light first before anything else. i took a star away even though I'm so happy with how these worked for me due to the hard wiring issues and the difficulty in starting these screws due to the blunter tip. I do like that the screws are in the fixture and you don't have to open a screw packet and then balance screw, fixture and drill, its just the fixture and drill as the screws can't fall out.

We bought two units to replace the basic ones we installed with the home. We also like smart-enabled lighting, so these were the perfect fit. We prefer to use a central hub for smart devices. SmartThings is the hub of choice, and Alexa is the voice assistant for voice control. If you don't have that kind of setup, it's A-OK. Once you set up your lights in Cync, go to Alexa and look for the Cync skill. Authenticate and approve access. Alexa will pick up the new devices almost instantly. They look great as undercabinet lighting and function perfectly. The ability to dim, apply themes, automate lighting schedules, and control them via voice is a fantastic convenience. Despite a lack of competitors in this space, these units are priced exceptionally well and reasonably—we feel they are worth every penny. The way the lights diffuse light into the acrylic panel makes it appear as a smooth light source with no "harsh" visible individual LEDs that plague most fixtures when viewed from different angles. Try their Reveal mode to see a different spectrum of lighting that enhances visuals. I would keep it enabled were it not for the lighting on my stove. I want them to match when daylight white is on, and that is the only way for me to achieve that. Now that we know about GE's smart lighting line, we're going to shop for more of their goods. Thus far, they've been of great quality and at a much more competitive price point. The physical installation of these units was much more straightforward than I thought it might be, given some review comments. Here are some guidelines and feedback: * First, plug the units in with the provided wall cable. Then, set up and configure your lights using the Cync app. This process ensures you don't have to deal with resets, etc., if you have trouble. It's the same if you intend to use them with HomeKit. I did not have issues pairing with the Cync app AND Matter, but some reviewers have suggested they are mutually exclusive. I tested it, and it worked, but then I removed them from HomeKit (as I don't use it). Download the Cync app from your app store to configure using the app. Select the option to add devices and then scroll down to undercabinet fixtures. They should pop up immediately. Set their properties, save, and let the units update their firmware while at it. After this step, you can proceed to hardwire if desired. * We wanted ours hardwired. POWER OFF YOUR CIRCUIT. Then, remove the back plate by removing the screw in the back of the unit. The plate will come loose. The wires to the unit are tucked just inside. Pull each of them out by their push-in connectors. There will be a green, white, and black one. The fixtures come with two-port push-in connectors. If you insert wires (from the wall) that are too long, it will be challenging to remove them later. Keep the slack from the wall wires long enough to work with the fixture, and you won't have this problem. I would only keep 5-6" of slack. Once trimmed, plug the wires into their corresponding units, and you're done with power. I learned this the hard way for the first fixture. If you forgot and need to open the unit, unscrew the access plate (there is a tiny screw on each side on the bottom of the unit) and reattach the plate once the wires are secured. * Position the unit and prepare to screw it in. However, before you do, I recommend having the screws partially exposed when positioning. You can then apply some pressure on the screw to imprint on the cabinet (or mounting surface). Then you can drill some pilot holes to ensure you don't break the screws. This was a concern one other owner mentioned. Each fixture should take about 15 minutes, but your mileage may vary.

I pre-ordered these under-counter lights because I read the product announcement at CES and was anxiously awaiting their availability. As a backstory, I have a fairly nice home, but had cheap fluorescent lighting in the kitchen. It was never bright enough to read cookbooks by, and I never liked the artificial look. Meanwhile, I was replacing different sized fluorescent tubes at a constant rate. Finally, the ballast failed on the longest light, and I decided I’d replace it with a quality product. Initially I was drawn to this lightbar because of the end-to-end light emitting capacity, and the interesting new smarthome features. Little did I know, I was buying an easy-to-install product with GREAT features for the DIYer. After I removed the old light unit, I found that this new system has color-coded wire connectors inside the housing so once you push your house wiring into place, they’re locked! No crimping and no twist-on wire caps! And, once you’re ready to install it under your cabinet, the system has pre-installed screws… So you won’t have to worry about dropping any behind your cabinets. The system supports joining multiple fixtures, so if you have cabinets of usual size, or want a long run of light, you can combine up to 10 (!) powered by a single 120v/60hz wire. I connected two of this model together for my cabinet, and if I had one gripe; it is that the connector doesn’t lock into place when connected. My solution was to install one fixture and then press the other against the first one as I screwed it down. The system powered up like a dream. I installed the Cync software on my phone and configured the light, and it showed me the difference between standard and “GE Reveal” light. Now I can read cookbooks with amazing clarity and take beautiful Instagram photos of the food I’m cooking. Family and visitors have already commented on how much nicer the kitchen looks now that I have quality lighting to cook and eat with.

Super pleased with these units. I installed five of them in the kitchen to compliment our recessed GE Cync (pot) lights in the main room, and Cync bulbs already in the bedroom and bathroom. Under cabinets were super easy to install. I hard wired mine. Added plugs included to butt fixtures tight together for linear installations. No gaps in lighting. Units are real slick and compact. Relatively easy to set up. Any issues setting up are usually from outdated firmware. Once updates are complete the set up always works but it can be fussy getting through it. Once set up though the Cync app is awesome and I love it. I don't use any home Alexa or any other sort of controller. Just linked to my phone and use the Cync app. No issues with any of my Cync products. I am a big fan. Something to note is once installed they run super super hot. Hot enough the butter in the cabinet above was getting soft. It was very concerning. Wasn't a fire hazard concern but just unusually hot. That's because brightness is usually maxed out to 100% by default and the driver is working overtime heating up the housing. Simply notching the brightness down 25%, 30%, 40% easily solves the problem. I don't even notice a difference in light brightness. 100% max bright is probably over kill. I run them at 50% now and they are very similar to the old florescents I replaced and they are cool to the touch and plenty bright. How long they last is yet to be determined but thus far I am very pleased with my purchase and compliment my other GE products beautifully.
