My husband got a new truck and was contemplating having a company put on the truck bed. It was going to cost a LOT of money, and our brother in law said he ordered this one. The install took about 15 minutes (a lot of the challenge was the weight of it, so it definitely needed the 2 men to install - a 3rd was used for “helping”, but that was not totally necessary unless you asked them). It is very durable and easy to open/close. I am 5 ft tall, but I have no problem opening and closing it on my husband’s f-150. It’s really strong as it was put to the test when my 2 year old used it as a stage. We didn’t have any issues with it denting or cracking. It comes off very easily if needed. We have traveled quite a bit with and and have gone to the grocery store during a rainy Houston day. It’s not 100% waterproof, but it’s good enough for sure. We make sure that our luggage is weatherproof, so that is not at all an issue. We’ve just seen a little bit of water seep through, but I wouldn’t even call it an issue. Would definitely recommend this if you don’t want to pay someone else an arm and a leg to do it for you! ... show more

I purchased the Gator EFX for a 2020 Ram 1500 with a 5’7” bed. I had been shopping for some time and has my eye on this particular model so when it went on sale I jumped on it. I was pleased when it arrived with a giant “Made in the USA” printed on the box. Installation was very easy and I completed it myself. Some may find it helpful to have a second person assist to lift the cover onto the truck bed and position after the rails are installed. I read the instructions provided and watched the videos on the web site to ensure it was installed properly. It fit perfectly, it functions as it should, and it looks great. We have had a couple of hard rains since it was installed and I have not found any water in the bed so it seems to be well sealed. This is a quality product for a great price.     • Better use rail clamps correctly!!!

Better use wedge shaped rail clamps correctly!!! I love the way this cover operates, but definitely NOT AT FIRST!! The one main ingredient to get the rails for my RAM truck to work correctly is to SEAT the wedge shaped clamps into the grove of the rails with the same wedge shape "first". This gets them at 90 degrees(flat across top of bed). They will snap into place but you have to push hard to get it to seat you can't just lay it up in the grooved area of the rail. If you don't seat that clamp properly you will as I did spend 2 and a half hours trying to figure out the problem!! This critical part of information is a part you will NOT get from reading your instructions "THEY" just left it totally out. I actually found this fact out by watching a video on "REAL TRUCKS" as they install the very same rails on a FORD Super Duty truck. That person made sure that you knew it was needed to snap the clamps into place for proper alignment. I went out to my cover and redid all my clamps also making sure I used the top groove (not bottom groove on the clamp) making sure they were seated properly and retightened my clamps. What an incredible relief as they all lined up perfectly and all sections snapped perfectly into place securely!!! Be forewarned if you have similar brackets to the ones for a 2019 RAM truck please snap in your rail clamps or your rails will never lay at 90 degrees. After doing the rail clamps correctly then my cover actually installed as easily as they make it look on their video, but NOT before that was corrected! Only gave 4 stars as they should not forget this very important installation tip ( 2 and a half hours wasted trying to figure this point out). I do believe the cover is very well made though and does look very sharp with it's low profile! ... show more

Lid fits well and looks flush. It is sturdy with a nice finish so good value for money. Yet to see how it performs in periods of wet weather in terms of sealing. Suggest using a tutorial video to fit rather than the instructions

This experience has not been great, at all. I received the cover, used the scan code to get the instructions for installation and the link says there’s an error and could not find the instructions. I tried look on RealTrucks website and the model number on the packaging doesn’t pull anything up. I had to call them directly to have them send me the instructions. Once cover was in and installed, it looked great. However, water slides in through all the sides. Keeps bulky items dried but the bottom will be wet. Then, on my right side of the bed, the brackets kept coming off. If I shut the lid too hard, if something graces the brackets, or if i need to climb into the bed from the sides, all of this would make the brackets loose and eventually fall off. Last straw, I was driving home on the highway and out of nowhere the right side of the cover falls into the bed. 2 out of 3 brackets on the right side came off, causing the cover to cave into itself which caused a dent on the right bottom side of the cover. Mind you, it was a windy day, but I feel like that shouldn’t have caused the whole right side to cave. This cover looks great, but it’s become obvious it’s not for everyday working. ... show more

EDIT - after messing around with this for the past week, I realized even though one of the clamps “snapped” into place, it actually didn’t. once I was able to get that 100% secure like the others, this now closes like it should. I changed my rating accordingly. I’ve helped install this exact same cover on a friends truck and it was straightforward and looks/works great so I bought one for myself. installation on my truck was just as straightforward except I cannot for the life of me get the driver’s side latch nearest to the tailgate to close by itself. the rail sags on both sides pretty bad and I have to lift the rail while pressing the cover down for it close. while it does look good from the outside of the truck, this issue completely defeats the purpose of buying this cover as I specifically bought it for the quick release and effortless latching. I am very disappointed as I fold up the cover to use my bed every morning for work and then unfold it before heading home. ... show more

I like that the cover folds into three sections and looks good on my truck. Installing it was a little bit of an issue due to the lack of good instructions. The rails kept bending inwards until I found a solution someone had posted online which fixed the issue. It is definitely not waterproof which is something I wanted it to be. It leaks at two of the corners even in light rains and allows in a significant amount of water. If I had known this in advance, I would not have purchased it and looked for a different product. Unfortunately, other reviews were mixed on it being waterproof. Overall, it looks good and folds up easily. If you're not concerned about items getting wet in your bed its good for the price. ... show more
