I did read all of the reviews before I bought this for my 2023 Tacoma Sport, short bed. It took me a several hours to install and everything went well, and I really love the end result look. I waited for a good rain to see how well it sealed and found that it leaked very little near the tailgate, but to be honest, I did not expect perfection, so I was very happy with how well it kept the water out. The directions could use some updating due to some of the differences between the directions and what was needed for my truck, but I did get it properly installed and I was impressed with the installation design which made it super easy to figure out and install. No cutting or drilling was needed except for the 2 drainage holes near the cab end of the bed. I used a step drill bit, then sealed around the hose once installed. I have used the cover in the various open positions and every position worked very well while driving at freeway speeds. I love the way it's designed to lock when the tailgate is locked. I also installed a tailgate extender and both the tailgate extender and cover worked well together. (They don't interfere with each other) I started to give this a 4-star due to the directions needing up dating, but due to the design being so easy to figure out what the directions lacked, I changed it to a 5-star. This bed cover looks good. But it leaks a little. I have had this for a few months and reinstalled 3 times to try to stop the leaks. It primarily leaks at the bed rail attachment. This attachment has a drainage well for the bed cover, it catches the water that gets into the cover (folded) seams and drains it out through a drainage pipe out of the bed. The main area that the cover leaks is where the rail attachment meets the front of the bed. Some how the water is bypassing the drain pipe. It does not leak a lot but it is a nuisances. I have had bed covers in the past on other trucks and they did not leak like this. Overall it is worth keeping, it will be something to live with. ... show more

Over all this product was built really well. It makes the truck look better, it protects your belongings and is really easy to use. Only reason why I am deducting one start is because the instructions are generic. The clamps shown in the manual are not the ones that come with the cover. I understand every vehicle is different, but you can at least included the respective instructions if the installation process is going to be completely different from other vehicles. ... show more

Product is great once you figure out how to install it. Instructions were not for a 2016 Tacoma and it took a while to figure out but once done it's great. Called the gator company to get guidance but was told it didn't fit a 2016 Tacoma but it does.
