This stove is outstanding I was ready to be disappointed took it out of the package noticed it was pretty nicely built but still ready to be disappointed I put a handful of twigs wrapped in a piece of paper towel no starter fluid or anything let off with one match and man let me tell you coffee was a breeze breakfast piece of cake dinner easiest at home I would recommend this stove to anyone easy to light convenient and doesn't outstanding job this is all from a guy who is ready to be a big skeptic you won't be disappointed if you purchase this one ... show more

When I bought this stove some months ago, it was on sale for around $60, so i though.. well why not? The stove takes pretty much any solid fuel there is. Wood shavings, paper, small branches, thicker branches, firewood (cut to size), pine cones, leafs, dried dung, coal, and whatever else can be used as a solid fuel. The stove burns hot, and the cast iron top make it easy to use it for cooking or heating water for coffee/tea. Just two notes of import: 1. depending on the fuel, there can be significant amount of ash thrown or expelled from the top. So careful when using paper, cardboard or pinecones for example. 2. the thing gets hot, and I mean really hot. It has a great insulation, which also means that it will take quite a long time to cool down after the flames and coals have gone out. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First burn on the stove started quite easily. It really does take almost constant tending to keep a good fire going. It may be the type of wood, but there's a lot of ash. Probably wouldn't be good with an open cooking container. All in all, it got a large pot of coffee boiling, albeit longer than I expected. The media could not be loaded. I bought this with the intention of making some good Uzbek dishes at home, and this stove did not disappoint. While you will have to chop your firewood into narrower chunks than you might be used to, the bit of extra work pays dividends when it makes short work of heating oil in a thick cast iron kazan and keeping some kazan kabob simmering for as long as you need it to. We even did some baking with it and the somsa that came out was delicious and juicy! A bit of practice is needed to really dial in the heat if there's a certain temperature requirement, but that'll come with experience. I love the smell of burning wood while cooking the old-fashioned way, and future buyers will too! ... show more

I haven’t used this yet. It appears built very well however the top where pan goes is small and it DOES NOT come with a carrying bag as others do.

Got it for my mom as she loves outdoor cooking. She said it is one of the best wood stoves she has ever used. It requires less wood and generates good heat to cook food efficiently.

Very well made and works great. The stove is very well made. It has 2 doors 1 to feed the fuel in and the bottom door is to let air in under the fuel (shticks). The inside on the bottom is like a brick oven and holds the heat very well and long. I bought this for emergency use and survival. I highly recommend this product, you don’t need gas, electric, solar, wind… just sticks and something to light it. Carry on….. ... show more

Although it is too heavy for backpacking it is a kickass stove. The quality is 100%. The stove is very stable and is great for large cast iron cookware, even a 14" cast iron wok, yes 14" ! Insulated chimney, the ability to feed longer fuel [branches, split wood, etc], the fire burns HOT if you wish. The cast iron grate on top is very stable, and the base inside is stone, like a pizza stone, and along with the insulated walls, once heated, will keep what is on top [like a coffee pot, etc.] warm for quite a while. I bought this stove, the review is MY experience, without influence from anyone. I highly recommend this stove. ... show more
