I purchased a couple of theses folding baskets as gifts. They were ordered and received within 24 hours! One of my recipients was over when the items arrived. We had a little trouble putting it together. But then we were old biddies with arthritis. To top this, one of the holes in her scooter was not probably drilled. We jimmy-rigged something to hold it in place, then she headed to ACE Hardware. The fellow there was so helpful. With some back and forth, he came up with a perfect solution to keep the basket connected! This friend doesn't have a car, but lives within a mile of groceries stores, pizza places, fast-food and sit-down restaurants, and convenient stores. Now, instead of calling one of those drive services, she can go on her own. Her only complaint was that I shouldn't have spent so much on this gift.     • Just a bit heavy but manageable
I love my basket! It takes a couple minutes extra to attach to scooter but has worked perfectly for grocery shopping. I get lots of positive comments from the checkers at the stores, all good! Took me a bit of practice to open and close it but overall it is definitely worth the cost!

Assembly is required but fairly straight forward - if you’ve ever put together a piece of cheap furniture from a big box store, you can handle it. This basket is heavy. If you are the person riding a scooter for mobility issues, you may need the help of a second person for installation. The basket is large and seems to be able to hold quite a bit, perfect for traveling or shopping. Depending upon your scooter type and the load you put into the basket, you may need to consider the weight distribution. Another thing to think about when traveling is the length this adds to the scooter, especially if the scooter itself doesn’t break down and you use a hitch mount/outside lift. While the basket is removal, it can be a bit of a pain to take on and off frequently. Overall, very useful! ... show more

The wire construction of the basket is rather sturdy, especially for one that can fold up, when collapsed, there's a latch on the one side that clips in and keeps everything from rattling. The mount the basket bolts to is also foldable, with a welded steel construction, with not the best looking welds, but plenty strong. The basket attaches via some flat bar that sandwiches the bottom bars to the mount, and isn't the best, but should be fine for groceries. The mount, it turns out, can fold as well, just pull a pin and the back side can fold up to save some space. Included are 4 red retro reflective stickers, 2 each for the bottom and rear of the frame so you have them visible with the mount folded up or down. My original plan for this was to use it as is for a scooter, but it turns out that my hitch is the wrong size, so i ended up using the basket for a bike trailer, and so far it's held up fine against the spring weather i've put it through so far. As long as you have someone knowledgeable assist you attaching it, and don't overload it, this GARVIN basket is rather decent. Haven't really messed with the rain cover, but it seems to be up to the task with no obvious issues. I'll edit if anything changes, but my initial impressions are positive. ... show more
