I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a recliner that shows up on my doorstep in a box. However, once I put this together I was pleasantly surprised! First of all, assembly was nice and easy. All I had to do was screw four plastic feet onto the bottom, and then slide the back onto the metal levers that it attaches to. It only took a couple minutes to assemble! This recliner is not as wide as some monster recliners that you would set in your living room, but that's okay with me. While it lacks massive fluffy armrests, the actual chair part of it is well padded and very comfortable. I'm 5'9, and 170 lb, and this chair feels like the perfect fit for me. I can tell that the armrest part of this chair is probably made of plywood, and covered with a thin layer of foam. I can definitely tell that there's a hard surface beneath, but it's soft enough without being ridiculously fluffy. If you have kids who are going to sit in these all the time, I don't know that these chairs are the best option as far as durability goes. But for my use, this will sit in the corner and look great for years. The only other very minor negative is that the plastic feet seemed very lightweight. Another dollar's worth of plastic would have made them much more sturdy. But then again they're down under this chair where no one is ever going to see them and I'm sure they're more than adequate for the job. ... show more

This is a review for a Garvee recliner. I’ve had the recliner for about a week. As far as value was concerned, this is a high value item as long as you understand what you’re getting. The price is right for an item with the limitations as described below so great value. The upside of this item is it is reasonably comfortable and compact. It is easy to assemble and you can move around your house to different rooms without much trouble. Once installed, it sits securely on a level service. This is a small comedian size recliner good for a small adult, teenager, or child. If you are a larger adult, you will feel cramped and if you are an extra large adult, you might not fit into it. So purchase it accordingly. The quality fabric is good. It should stand up to normal wear and tear without staining or ripping. The cushioning on it is a little on the stiff side, but still comfortable. It is easy to recline backwards with a push of your back as it does not have a handle. It has a side pocket so you can stick a remote control or a magazine or whatever in it. Overall, the build quality is great and the mechanical quality is great as well. I give this item 4 stars because of its somewhat smaller size and it’s somewhat industrial look and feel. It is an apartment level piece of furniture, and probably not something to put in your main living area of your main house. Great job, Garvee! ... show more

Put this in the corner of the bedroom to watch TV and read in, and it’s been great so far. It’s comfortable and the recline feels good. I do have to pull it out a bit from the wall to lean it back, but it’s light enough that it’s not a hassle. It was super easy to put together...literally just pulling the back piece out and inserting it. It’s not a big lazy boy type chair, but it’s perfect for sitting and relaxing when I don’t feel like laying down. It's big enough for an adult, and is sturdy enough, but it absolutely will not accommodate big and tall type statures. You'll want a different chair for that. It also quickly became one of the cat’s favorite spots, and they started going at the legs, so I ended up putting some anti-scratch guards on the bottom. It's a good chair :) ... show more

I picked up this Garvee recliner chair to give myself a proper spot in the living room for watching movies and winding down after work, and I’ve been genuinely impressed by how much thought clearly went into its design.     • This has to be the most comfy chair ever.
Be advised that this chair fits well a slim person. The slim footprint makes it great for any room, its light, its easy to recline and assembly is a breeze. The fabric is gentle with the skin and easy to clean. Has one pocket on the right side very useful for remote controls. I found this reclining chair easy to move from one room to the other. I can watch a movie with the family or take it back to the office and relax. 3 positions are possible with this chair and every single one is comfortable. Very well recommended. ... show more
