This is a heavy duty one piece constructed item. It's a true 8 inch lift. For those who find this item too steep for their car, a solution may be to place the ramp behind your wheels, where the ramp is aimed towards the middle of your vehicle instead of out front, and drive onto them without passing the low bumper area. Simple solution but, apparently, hard to conceive. It's true that the bottom of these ramps don't have non-slip material on them. If that matters in your situation, place a wet towel or some other item that may solve this minor problem. I say minor because most surfaces would suffice, especially as the ramps are more used and their bottoms roughen up (though you can pre-roughen them also). I found that by wedging them into the area where the tire meets the ground, prior to driving onto them, they don't slip at all. This ramp, for its price (I paid $75) is well worth it. Note that the buyer may want to shop around a bit and, after making sure that the item is the same (marketed by Garviee) get it. Best out there to date. They fit into each other and, as a result, store as compactly as one can expect. ... show more
