It is heavy as hell and needs 2 people. I followed instructions at first because I am a woman. If you have a slightly slanted window like mine though you’ll have to throw away instructions and think like a man.I had to use grippy type foam on the underside(portion that touches window sill because it is very slick and those leg poles will not help to keep it from sliding) . I used leveling blocks but the weight of the compressor/condenser side just kept rolling the blocks out. So I put the blocks down, then the foam cushion and then set the unit down. No more sliding. Obviously the back side is heavier than front side so do the math. I am still giving this 5 stars because the unit cools like a mother. I absolutely love it and I hope it will last because I don’t want to take it out of the window unless forced to. I highly recommend that whoever makes these awesome units would put some type of rubber grip under the neck area so that people don’t have to kill themselves trying to install it. If you have a flat window sill you are good and just follow the instructions like a woman.

So far I am very impressed..... Just last year I bought the Madea u-shaped window unit and within a couple of months it was covered in mold and the install was horrible.... This unit is very quiet, air flow is very powerful, and for 6,000 BTU it seems to be doing really good (I bought two units one for the kitchen one for the living room) I have central air but if my measurements are correct and if it's true that these are energy efficient this is going to save me some money. One of the units did make a pretty loud noise coming from the inside fan motor... But now it seems to be running just fine... We shall see but I am impressed so far! Ignore the reviews that say it is difficult to install.....

Love the AC unit works great I love how little the window has to be open in order for it to sit in the window. Would have given this a five-star review but when I received the AC it was damaged all on the outside but we really needed it so we went ahead and kept it it still works which says something for the quality of how it's made considering of how badly it was cracked and dented on the sides and back.

What a fantastic design! Previous to ordering this model, I had been stuck with a bulky, atrociously designed brick for a window unit AC. We are in Las Vegas and already hitting the triple digits (we’re still in March). My home is newer and it’s decently insulated, however we do have a few hot spots within the home. My loft and guest bedroom are the worst areas and the areas we need this system to cool. With this model, my window isn’t blocked so I don’t feel trapped inside. I can open and close my window with ease. The AC unit it looks nice, and cools the rooms quickly and efficiently. For reference,the room I’m using this in is about 375 square feet. I have noticed my power bill is slightly lower since installing this, not higher. I can now see that all this time I’ve been cooling my large loft and all the cool air was just not flowing the way it needed too. This unit is nearly silent due to the U shaped design, since the compressor is on the outside. Installation and set up wasn’t too bad, just ensure you seal all the way through. This unit is heavy and for me- impossible to carry on my own, it’s best to ensure you have some extra help. Even when it gets delivered, have an extra set of hands. I love that it includes a remote and how quickly it cools, I do wish it were a bit lighter- but I’m not sure that’s possible to accommodate. This unit is priced fairly and its well worth the price!

I really like the design of this Garvee Air Conditioner. My biggest issue with regular window a/c's is that they completely render the window useless. With this U shaped A/C I can still easily see out of my window and I only have to have the window open a little bit. It comes with everything needed to install and was honestly easier to install than my old one. I was able to install myself because it sits over the window sil and stays in place by itself without having to close the window before letting go of it. There are also 2 adjustment screws in the bottom of the compressor to secure it. No more saw horses or gawdy brackets. Dispite the odd design, it cools really well and the air pushes out quite far. It's also a lot quieter than my old one. I also really like the remote. It's not just a cheap remote. It has a really nice lcd screen on it allowing me to see the temp and other important information. With all of that being said, I highly recommend that you measure your window sil and opening before purchasing to make sure it will fit correctly.
