    • Nice unit with a useful shape, great for odd windows.
This is for the U shaped one. It's a nice solution for window air conditioners fixing a couple common complaints: it's too loud, it won't fit in the window or is annoying to install, it spills water all over the place. Loudness: the condenser is entirely outside, and with the window closed more (and therefore smaller foam or wood panels to close it off), it is actually more quiet. It seems like there's less risk of rattling, too, since it doesn't rest against the window as much. Install: These are heavier and a little more awkward, but install is much easier. You basically just stick it halfway out the window, and it's balanced enough that it will rest on the windowsill. Use the foam to make sure it doesn't hurt your window. Since the window closes a lot more, if the foam doesn't quite work for you, other options are cheaper and easier (because, well, less space to worry about) Water: Since the condenser is entirely outside, water won't run to the front of the unit and drip into the room. Even if you don't get the balance quite right. As for the actual fit, these work best if the space below the window on BOTH sides is pretty flat. I installed this in an attic window that is too small for normal AC, and it rests against the roof AND drops enough to hit the baseboard heater on the inside. That leaves a small gap where the middle of the U is floating up a bit, so I had to cut some foam to fill in this extra space. It's one downside to it being a less conventional shape, but that's because of my attic windows and not because of the unit (so I'm not taking away a star, I had a feeling from the measurements). There was a funny smell when it came on and lasted for about 10 minutes. All gone now. Instant cooling. I'm using it to supplement central air, because the attic space gets hot instantly after the house AC kicks off, and it's doing a very nice job. ... show more

I absolutely love this ac unit. It’s very quiet and I have only used the fan (high setting), even when it was 99 degrees outside. It’s in my kitchen and keeps it cool with just the fan setting. It’s heavy so it took a while for me to get someone to help me but otherwise so much easier to install! It’s perfect for my medium size kitchen. Seems reliable so far. I will definitely try to get another one for my office. Highly recommend!! ... show more

    • Malfunctioned after a couple months. Don't recommend purchasing.
I bought two of these and they seemed decent at first. I have one in two different rooms of my house. One of them started flashing "F1" and directions stated it was full of water and needed to be emptied. I empty it and an hour later is full and blinks again. It tells you not to run the unit without the water plug in. So, I can't leave on for longer than an hour. It cooled great for a couple months, now is essentially useless. I do not recommend buying this product. It is overpriced for one summer use. I hardly turn AC on and but malfunctions every single time i turn it on. The design concept is great as it allows the only window in my bedroom to have give cats room to look out of the window but clearly all the bugs have not been worked out. The air conditioner itself is amazing it works wonderful love that it doesn't take up the whole window I can still put a window fan in if the weather is nice but the buttons the buttons are stupid like you brush by it and it turns on or you brush by it and it turns off it's a really dumb design please give us physical buttons. ... show more

Bought this for my son’s room that gets the hottest in the summer. Works great and the noise is not noticeable. He likes that he can still see out his window thanks to the easy U-shaped mount. He was able to mount it by himself.

I’ve just installed this AC for the summer. The install: not bad. No additional tools required (for a standard window). Best done with two people as it is hefty. It came with foam blocks to help seal the space around the window, and knobs inside the U to serve as an anchor. However, the customer service does not sell replacement foam blocks and discourage removing during winter, which is unrealistic for cold areas. Performance: after trying various modes, I’ve found Dry mode is where it’s at. Cools very fast and is quiet! Small con: the plug is pretty big and is on the right side of the AC, so take it into consideration. I’ve basically run out of outlet real estate as it takes up the whole outlet 😅 Mine also came with a dent :/ ... show more
