  • So far so good.
Every room in the house stays comfortable, except the living room. It faces west, so when that afternoon sun hits, it heats up fast. My central a/c just can't keep up, and heaven forbid you turn the oven on to cook dinner! This mini-split has honestly been a lifesaver. It cools the room down quickly and keeps it consistently comfortable, even during the hottest part of the day. I was especially happy with how quiet it is. Since it’s in the living room, I didn’t want something loud or distracting, and this runs smoothly in the background without being disruptive at all. One thing to keep in mind, installation! I initially thought this would be a simple DIY job for my boyfriend or son-in-law, but it definitely required a professional. So, plan for that extra cost unless you’re very experienced with electrical and HVAC work. Once it was installed though, everything worked perfectly. The unit itself looks nice and doesn’t feel bulky or out of place, which is great. The remote is easy to use, and while I haven’t tried connecting it to Alexa yet, it’s nice to have that option. I’ve only had it running for about a month, so I can’t fully speak to long term energy costs yet, but my first electric bill didn’t show any noticeable increase, which is encouraging. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It solved a problem area in my home that central air just couldn’t handle, and it’s been reliable, quiet, and effective so far. I’ve had good experiences with this brand before, and this unit definitely continues that trend. ... show more

  • Nice unit but requires professional installation Nice unit but requires professional installation
I recently installed the Garvee 12000 BTU Mini Split AC, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. This unit offers 4-in-1 functionality—cooling, heating, drying, and fan-only modes—which makes it a versatile solution for year-round comfort. Whether it's the scorching heat of summer or a chilly winter evening, this system has you covered. It does both heating and cooling. One of the standout features is its rapid cooling and heating capabilities. The Garvee mini split cools a space of up to 750 sq ft in just 30 seconds and can heat in 60 seconds. That’s seriously fast! This is perfect for anyone who wants to get to the perfect temperature quickly. I’ve tested it in both cooling and heating modes, and it’s been effective in both. Another great feature is the AI-driven vector inverter that maintains the set temperature with pinpoint accuracy (within ±0.1°C/0.18°F), all while consuming 25% less energy than typical units. Plus, with a 22 SEER2 rating, this unit is way more energy-efficient than many conventional models, which translates into real savings on my energy bill. This unit doesn’t just perform well—it also helps keep costs down in the long run. I love the convenience of the built-in Wi-Fi 2.0, which lets me control the unit remotely via the app. It's also Alexa-compatible, so I can adjust settings hands-free using voice commands, which is a nice touch. Whether I’m at home or away, I can easily power the unit on or off, change modes, or program schedules without getting up. This unit is incredibly quiet. In Turbo mode, the noise level is only 41 dB, and in Sleep mode, it’s as low as 23 dB. I’ve used it in my bedroom and home office, and the quiet operation has made a significant difference in the ambiance of the room—perfect for sleep or concentration without any annoying hums. The outdoor unit is notably smaller than typical models, making it ideal for those with limited outdoor space. I’ve got a tight balcony, and this unit fits perfectly without taking up too much space. Keep in mind that professional installation is required for optimal performance and compliance with regulations, though the compact size of the outdoor unit does help with installation logistics. Overall, I’m thoroughly impressed with the Garvee 12000 BTU Mini Split AC. It’s a highly efficient, quiet, and convenient solution for anyone looking to control the climate of their home. Whether you need cooling, heating, or just fresh air, this system delivers it all. With its energy savings, smart connectivity, and compact design, it's definitely a solid choice for those seeking comfort and convenience. Here is the downside ....Professional installation is required for optimal performance. You'll need your own Freon supply as well as pressure monitoring gauges to properly charge the unit. Otherwise I would have given it five stars. I was hoping that this was a easy installation, but you can expect to pay anywhere from $300 to $500 to get it professionally installed. I was hoping it was like some other units. I'd seen that I had pre-charge lines but that's not the case here. ... show more

  • Wonderful system for both heating and cooling. Very cold AC!
This turned out to be a wonderful way to both heat and air condition our separate mother-in-law suite that's just outside, connected by our patio. It covers up to 750 sq feet so this was a perfect size system for it, even having a little more coverage than we needed. What really caught my eye with this system was that it has a ductless inverter in it for more regulated cooling. So many new systems are coming out having inverters in them and a friend of ours who works with a HVAC company constantly recommends systems with inverters in them now, as a money saving feature. Another feature that I like is that all the setting can be monitored and adjusted through an app on my phone, and not just through regular panel controls. It's impressive that they have come so far as to having smart capabilities in units like these. It can even be connected with your home Alexa system for some basic commands. It's impressive. The AC cools very quickly and the fans inside push out a ton of cool air fast. If you want to cool down in a hurry, just stand in front of this and turn it on. It's like walking into the doorway of a standing freezer! Installation was done by a good friend of ours who works with heating and cooling systems, and he said it was very quick and easy to put in. It came with an installation kit and he had everything up and running the same afternoon he started it. I think we spent more time talking together than it even took him to get everything connected. It's been an impressive little system that doesn't take up nearly as much space as I have seen some do. This one is more compact and it's sized very well for our needs. ... show more

  • Great Mini Split
THIS.... IS The Garvee Mini Split Air Conditioner, a 12000btu cooler and heater that is FANTASTIC. Out of the box, I just had my contractor install this. It isn't really too bad, but when it comes to cutting exterior walls, I'd rather not have issues from my wife. After installation, these are great. We bought the extension tubing to make it to our second floor (sold separately) and have had zero issues. It has a sleek look that easily blends into our bedroom up on our wall. Cooling is fantastic, being both quiet and quick, with the remote working fantasticly. The heating is great too, though, that is more for my wife than me. I was shocked at how well it did at not only keeping our room ice cold at night, but how quiet it was the whole time even on full power. This does take less energy than our old window unit while looking objectively better. Though it is only $10 or so cheaper a month, it does a way better job and doesn't take up one of our windows. Overall, this is a great high end option for heating and cooling medium sized rooms with no problem and an end to hot summer nights. ... show more

  • Expensive Compared To Similar, Streamline Look Expensive Compared To Similar, Streamline Look
I'm living where winter is still, well winter. We had a beautiful day in the 70s and I was running, well not running, around in a short sleeved shirt with my face turned upward to the sun like a sunflower. The next day was to bring freezing rain and snow. Yup. The joys of living up north. I ordered this AC to go into a pool house although my husband is attempting to claim it for his sister's house that has window units (I should probably do the right thing and send it to the SIL). Regardless of which place it is to go we need to have an electrician install it. Neither of us have enough knowledge (I can change a light bulb thank you very much) to do electric work like this and until the ground is hard enough to pour a concrete foundation for the outside unit part we will just leave this boxed. We have had a similar unit put in my FIL's house and it works beautifully heating and cooling his smallish house all year round. I expect this to do the same though it is a smaller unit and less BTUs. It is plain and simple looking and won't really interfere with my SIL's aesthetics in any room she puts it in. It will blend in well in the pool house also and certainly keep that nice in summer and since it also doubles as a game room/get-the-kids-out-of-the-house room it wil be nice to have the place warm in winter as well. Giving the kids their own space outside the house when they are yelling at their Fortnite meme at 3:00 a.m. when the house is sleeping will be like being childless again with restful nights. This is a heavy unit and arrives in a huge box. What I discovered when I opened the huge box is that the AC is actually in two separate boxes within. The inside unit is light and easy to lift. The outside unit is heavier but even this 66 yo lady was able to lift it enough to move it without scratching the wood floors. I originally like that it worked with Alexa until my husband informed me we don't have Alexa. We have Siri. Bummer. I don't use either so who knew? It has a remote and I do work with those so for me that will be my method of choice to operate this AC if we end up keeping it for ourselves. My SIL does use Alexa and that would mean she has the benefit of that feature. I like that there is a fan only option. I like air movement and in summer it can be so still when it is hot out. In winter I'm always able to crack the window for just a hint of movement. Price for this AC is $1268.44. That is very steep and if not receiving it as through Vine I would probably not have gotten one just yet. There are similar units for much, much less and higher BTU units for much less. I would do a lot more research if I was paying for this unit versus others. My FIL's AC unit is great and did not come close to this price and if it is still made I would be quite happy with it. Price right now is pretty important. ... show more

  • Quiet and cold with a great seer rating Quiet and cold with a great seer rating
Got this for a bedroom addition that we recently had constructed. Installation was beyond my scope of DIY abilities so we hired a professional to install. According to the installers all parts needed were included and installation was simple enough. Instructions are included if you are doing it yourself. There is also a remote which works well from anywhere inside the room and the buttons are all clearly marked making it easy to control. The unit itself is much quieter than my portable ac and it has swing or up and down blowing capabilities. The temperature is displayed on the unit as well as the remote. The unit works very well blowing nice and cold. We have been using it for a while and there have been no issues with the unit. Summer is coming up and this will be a lifesaver. Oh and yes it has a 22 seer rating which is awesome. Great mini split for a fraction of the cost. Definitely recommend getting. ... show more

  • A high-quality DIY cooling solution
I was honestly relieved to find that this mini split is a doable DIY project without having to call in a pro. It runs on a standard 115V outlet, so I didn’t have to mess with installing a specialized high voltage line, which saved me a lot of time and money right off the bat. It’s powerful enough to keep my entire main living room area cool, and the inverter technology keeps it running very quietly in the background. With the WiFi capability, I can adjust the temperature from my phone, and the remote sensor is a nice touch for keeping the air temperature stable and comfortable. While the installation requires a bit of patience, some basic tools, and a brief nerve-wracking moment of drilling holes through the exterior wall to get the lines set up correctly, the instructions were clear enough to follow along. It’s a well-built system that provides reliable cooling and heat without the high cost of a professional HVAC installation. ... show more

  • Use less energy and get better cooling Use less energy and get better cooling
I did a great deal of reading about mini splits before ordering. My home has no ductwork. It's cost prohibitive to install. Keeping my home cool is becoming more challenging with the increasingly sweltering climate. Everything I read suggested having an HVAC person install it, not an electrician. I called our family member who is an HVAC guy to come check it out and see what he thought. After thoroughly inspecting the unit, he gave the green light. He relayed that I'll need 120v disconnect with 125 max amp breaker. This will need to be added to my home and can be done by hvac or by an electrician. He was impressed with "everything you need to install" being included. The interior unit is compact with a remote for controlling. It comes with a template to ensure adequate space for placement. If you don't already have a unit, the install will take some take and a bit of cost. You'll need to have a small hole cut into your house. So make sure you're not hiring an amateur to do the work. If you're going to be using the heater, you do need to have it lifted off the ground. At 12,000 BTU, it's going to cool a large room well. Garvee is a brand I trust. They make many quality products and stand behind them. Do recommend. ... show more
