The Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II has an unparalleled reputation among treasure hunters, law enforcement agencies and various industries as one of the most reliable and sophisticated submersible metal detectors of its kind. The Sea Hunter Mark II is an advanced microprocessor- driven instrument that is lightweight, highly durable and easy to use. The Sea Hunter's pulse induction (PI) circuitry provides excellent depth and enables you to find treasure without interference from salt water and most ground minerals. Outstanding Features The Sea Hunter's outstanding performance, custom-designed housing and multiple configurations make it superior to other underwater detectors available. Microprocessor-based circuitry in the Sea Hunter provides greater sensitivity, faster target response and comes with Garrett's exclusive Discrete Target Elimination mode. The custom designed double o-ring sealed housing is durable and lightweight, with individual, o-ring sealed battery and electronics compartments that makes battery replacement hassle free. An 8" epoxy-filled search coil and custom designed headphones, submersible to 200 feet, make the Sea Hunter Mark II highly stable and reliable. Each arrangement allows you the versatility to search on land, in shallow water or underwater, or in situations where a sealed detector is required. The ScubaMate is ideal for diving while the long stem allows you to carry the control housing on your waist or shoulder, or stem mounted, is useful for searching on land or in shallow water. Includes the Following Items: - Garrett 8" PROformance submersible search coil; - Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II 10"x14" PROformance Elliptical Mono Loop Coil; - Submersible headphones; - Belt pouch; - Instructional DVD. Dredge up your own piece of history and take up a hobby that could very well pay for itself with a few good finds: metal detecting. The Garrett Sea Hunter II metal detector is submergible, allowing the user to take the search for treasure into the briny deep, where shipwrecks and sunken treasures await discovery. The detector's design allows for four different stem configurations: long stem with the ScubaMate box attached at the hip, long stem with the ScubaMate attached under cuff, long stem with the ScubaMate attached at top, or short stem configuration intended for convenience while diving. The versatile ScubaMate box includes a jack for the included headphones (submergible up to 200 feet) and knobs for adjusting the device's sensitive trash elimination, threshold, and power level settings. Included with the detector are various straps for attaching the ScubaMate to a wetsuit, an instructional video, treasure wipes, and a Garrett baseball cap. --Benjamin Reese

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine
Great Machine - I would give 5 stars but the shaft is pretty cheesy! It wiggles and rattles enough that one of the nylon nuts loosened and fell off on my first outing! Fortunately it came with a few extras... probably because I'm sure it happens a lot! I do beach salt water detecting, and it's amazing. When you consider price vs it's competition, I'll take the Sea Hunter every day. Hunting in, or near salt water is a little different (especially in Florida) -- there is no discrimination on this machine, but if you really want to find the good stuff, you dig everything, and this machine finds everything, and at great depth. So if you're impatient, you'll be frustrated with the Sea Hunter, but it's far better than anything I've used at the beach so far. It's probably not the machine for local parks, that would drive anyone crazy. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Got it for diving
This is my first metal detector so I only have experience with one that a friend had twice before. I chose this one over less expensive models because I am an active scuba diver with over 700 dives. I travel quite extensively (Only home 3 months last year) and I needed something that was collapsible. I saw this as something to add to my dive gear or just to use on the beaches. I spend a lot of time in Guam, japan, Singapore & the Philippine Islands. This looked like it would be a fun thing to try. So far I haven't had a chance to dive with it. Just got it a month ago. I have had fun on the beaches at home. Still learning. Probably my favorite feature is putting the controller on my hip. It makes swinging the coil back and forth less strenuous on my arm. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC MACHINE
Have edited since a new one shipped from the factory--- LOVE IT! I use this as part of a veteran diving program. Its important to get our divers in the water and finding stuff as part of their therapy. This unit has been incredible and we are ordering more this week. This last weekend I did a 1hr 20 min dive and a 2hr 10 min dive in 43 degree water with 1-3 foot vis. I found several relics, about $4 in change, and a nice pendant. I was uncovering items as much as 8-10 inches beneath the mud and muck. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Parts : Disappointed
The Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II was something that I was so looking forward to using as reviews indicated that it is great in sea water and has little to no chatter. The box it came is quite plain (no issue), but the inside of the box which contained the pieces in separate compartments was not well made. I took out items that had been rolling around in transport and had to cut a hole bigger than the piece it was squeezed into, in order to get the piece out. The small manual has NO instructions on how to piece it all together. In the end I had to watch the Garret video online. The plastic screws seem flimsy, and the mounting brackets for the detector box were impossible to piece together with plastic screws as the screws were too short (despite trying to squeeze the brackets as best I could). The worst part when I managed to put it together, is that the two stem rods do not piece together properly and jiggle and wobble so much that it becomes useless to detect with. The rods are made very cheaply, are thin metal and are a substandard product. If you fix the detector box to the stem rod, the metal brackets that hold it to the stem cover up the instructions displayed on the box. An altogether very frustrating and disappointing experience over what I originally thought was a great detector. I have returned it. ... show more

So far this has been a great product. Takes a little time to get the hang of it for pinpointing finds. I suggest the purchase of a sand scoop for retrieving hits underwater. I don't use it on shore because it doesn't allow to much discrimination compared to my other detector. However it would do fine for shore hunting. Five stars to METALDETECTINGSTUFF.COM for the great support after the sale.. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars The Garret Seahunter is the best beach hunting machine
The Garret Seahunter is the best beach hunting machine, ive found tons of money and even a 1910 Barber Half-Dollar on my local beaches, it has one tone, but that tone sort of varies. it will be loud on bottle caps and have more of a softer tone on coins, always dig deep faint sounding targets that is how you get the good stuff. you will be extremely satisfied with the machine. ... show more

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars Plastic hardware, rods, and many other issues.
Plastic hardware, on an 800 dollar unit. That’s all you need to know to stay away from this pile of steaming garbage. The grip on the stem was missing so right off the bat I got a horrible impression on this product. Once I got It assembled, I had some test items to use it on…. it doesn’t detect gold or chains. Go ahead and test it. Tested it on an 14k gold crucifix and a sterling silver 5mm rope chain. And nothing. It did however detect my sterling silver crucifix, but it only detected it within a few inches of the coil. Seriously? A few inches of depth is all this thing can muster, mind you, this was on dry land. I can’t imagine how horrendous this thing must be underwater which is what I planned on using this for… My 200 dollar hand held pulse dive gets 6 inches of depth… This thing Beeps constantly for no reason. Stay away, this thing sucks. Processing my refund now. If I wanted to not detect gold or chains I would’ve stuck with my handheld pulse dive, which ironically? Works better then this. So much for “made in murica” when half of the damn machine is plastic. Remember, they want 800 bucks for this, it’s worth maybe half of that and that’s just me being generous. Stay away, I promise I’m saving you the disappointment that I feel currently with this product. ... show more
