  • Excellent Purchase
This is an amazing GPS for anyone who drives for a living. I would recommend this for truck drivers, delivery drivers, or police officers. I have never had any issues with this device and the screen is very large, bright and crisp. The only negative I have to say about this device is that it will sometimes have a pop up that recommends food and gas which can be an annoyance as you cannot turn this feature off in the settings. This can be an issue for police officers if they are heading to an emergency call and are relying on this navigation and suddenly this message pops up minimizing the view of the map. ... show more

  • very frustrating device
two stars are for the following abilities: it works & does show you where you are at at any given moment... not small things. However - I have had to double check routs every time with google maps to confirm the shortest rout on long drives & my device has Changed routs in erratic ways while driving. I drove the wrong fork on a road split, and this devices solution was to rout me 44 miles to a dead end, so I could turn around and drive the Same road out. While I fully admit I missed this fork, why did the device not tell me to turn around? Why rout 44 miles in the wrong direction? The line on the road is a single line (not a double line showing the required return path), and there was Zero information on the screen to inform me I would have to back track out. I didn't drive this full 88 miles, but I drove enough of it to be frustrated - Especially because there was a cut-off road After I missed the turn that the device Completely ignored that could get me back on track. I had to Manually figure that cut off road out with my phone... Today, it routed me on two wrong turns - after taking one, it told me to turn around... but the rout on the device continued to direct me in the wrong direction. Later in the same drive it again routed me on a full hour detour towards a major city (Sacramento), instead of keeping me on track straight north to my destination. This was After I double checked the rout at the beginning of the drive... Baffling. And why? It begs the question - does this device direct you where It wants to go? For some ulterior motive? I'm not convinced this device has the ability to actually direct a driver to the shortest rout on long drives (5+ hour drives with multiple routs). Someone could tell me I don't know how to use this device properly... Then why does google maps on my laptop or phone work Every Time Easy - where this device fails? I will keep it for reference to where I am, because it does track my position when my cell has gone out of service in rural areas. But... I think I'm done using it to actually direct me... it's Entire Purpose. imo We are all entering an age where we buy devices for a purpose, and due to exterior motives (data collection, advertisement, and 'places to stop on the way' (to be specific)), do we even own the device? Or is it a tool of the manufacturer still - obeying their directives, and not the users? Sounds wacky! I know, but I also know this will be the Last Garmin I purchase unless I discover their devices Actually work for directing the driver to their destination on the shortest possible rout, every time, without complication. ... show more

  • The GPS doesn't know where it is after an overnight.
I am an OTR trucker. This pricy GPS does a C+ B- job. Its large display is nice, but it doesn't know as much about the map as does my iPhone's 'Trucker Path' software. Not worth the money.

  • Garmin GPS Navigators are the best.
This is actually what I wanted and it came with a mounting device. However, when I was looking at it on your website, it never showed a mounting device, so I ordered one of those too. I did receive my GPS and have it in use now, but the extra mounting device has not been delivered yet. If you can cancel it, I would appreciate it. Melvin P. Drake ... show more
