  • Probably the most useful multifunction dashcam navigation incident recording system on the market.
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
I was annoyed that dodge expected me to pay an additional $600 to turn on the navigation system. I like the idea of having a good camera in a 200 mph car. My years of experience with garmin in my semi trucks already had me convinced. The frontal collision and lane departure warning functions both work. Those are improvements in computing power made more recently. Automatic incident recording is an absolutely invaluable tool. All data and video from three minutes prior to the crash are saved even if the device is destroyed it is likely that the video can be retrieved from the SIM card. Insurance companies get upset when expensive vehicles get wrecked or stolen. The video camera can be left running while you are parked to record anything going on around the car while you are out of sight. The front camera has nearly 180 degree coverage even near the car. It is high quality video that will stand up in court because it’s satellite linked and location and time identified. The camera can easily be removed post incident and will definitely record any incident and several minutes prior immediately into permanent memory until you erase. If the device is destroyed in a crash the information will still be there on the device. The garmin is easily removed from it’s factory windshield suction cup mount with a simple click. I have literally had suction cup mounts go over 100,000 miles in a bouncing dirty semi and never came off the windshield. It accepts voice commands just like a cars internal navigation system will. If you are a traveler who likes using their own navigation system the device is easily portable from vehicle to vehicle. Don’t forget it or you’ll cry. 😢 ... show more

  • Worth the money.
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
I use this Garmin daily and is a great product. I enjoy the combination of dash cam and gps map all in one. The size makes it easy to see. It has an alarm for forward collision and lane drift. I have used this Garmin on a 6 state vacation road trip and it's accuracy was spot on. It also had a speed display of my vehicle and a posted speed for that section of road and the speed display turns red when I go faster than posted speed limit. The mount to window surface is secure and much better than earlier models. This Garmin is user friendly. Originally I had both a dash cam, and also a GPS which took up 2 locations on my windshield. The video from the dash cam part is great. This combination brings 2 items into 1 and keep my windshield view open and unobstructed. It is worth the price. ... show more

  • This GPS came down with three fatal defects as soon as the 90-day return period expired.
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
This GPS came down with three fatal defects as soon as the 90-day return period expired. It's now a very expensive clock! 1) After only three months, it kept giving a "low battery" error and shutting down, even though I had it plugged in all the time and only had it turned on when the car was running. The only way to get it working again was to go on a long drive with it turned off and charging. That only temporarily solved the problem, as it later developed the "low battery" problem again and again. 2) After about five months, a second defect occurred. The GPS displayed the error message "The memory card is degrading and video may be lost. Replace the memory card soon." The GPS was only five months old at this time! 3) When it was six months old, the GPS antenna ceased working, and it continuously displayed "Acquiring satellite" while displaying no other information other than the time of day. At this point, with the unit only six months old, it turned into a very expensive, $420 clock with a weak battery! Rebooting it didn't help, turning it off and on didn't help. This is the most expensive GPS I've ever bought in my life, and also the lowest quality, most defective piece of junk electronic product ever purchased. See attached photo of the 2nd error message. ... show more

  • A good product in so many ways, but why can't this mount on the dash, or upside down? Why?!
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
I really like the Drivecam 76 but I hate the mounting options. I don't understand why they didn't give a dashmount option, or allow you to mount the suction cup upside down and then invert the camera and screen in software by selecting it. As it ships, because the only place to put this without impeding the driver's view is on the passenger's side of my windshield in such a way that the passenger's view is completely impeded. I've had this for a couple of years and keep hoping for a firmware update or an aftermarket dash mount solution but it hasn't materialized. It's a shame because it's a great GPS. It is quick to calculate/recalculate, the screen is responsive, and it's nice to be able to use parts of the screen to show the map and parts showing upcoming turns. The driver aids work well. The camera quality is suprisingly decent. Not having the ability to mount on the dash means I leave it in the glove box more frequently than not. Shame. ... show more

  • Good GPS, Size is to large for windshield
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
Real nice GPS. Easy to operate, connects with phone and wi fi. Good graphics. The only issue I have with the GPS is that it is to large to use safely mounted on my windshield.

  • For those who own earlier versions, it's familiar and useable. For new folks, harder.
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
It's a little better than prior models and does have a dash cam. It's not super easy to understand how to capture dashcam photos to your phone. It sometimes seems to have trouble finding the satellites after being in a parking garage or under a gas station canopy. It WILL update via WiFI but it has the same problem with the SD card not having enough memory and lacks good guidance on how to use a larger SD card without messing up the update. Not clear about how Bluetooth connects, no confirmation, no communication about how it gets traffic data, etc The Garmin phone APP is terrible imo. It's STILL a decent Navigator most of the time but it needs more attention to the User Interface. IMo. ... show more

  • Great Navigation & Camera GPS
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
For those of us with older vehicles that did not come with nice displays and cameras the DriveCam 76 is an indispensable tool. The first one I purchased had technical issues and would not connect up to the Garmin camera I had on the rear of the vehicle- bluetooth connectivity issues. The replacement however is working great. This 7” display is perfect for my use, mounted just under the rear view mirror it’s easy to view when driving either providing navigation, keeping track of my lanes, speed, and warning me of proximity issues. The voice commands work well to bring up or hide the rear camera view. Easy to update software and maps via WiFi in the garage - no need to pull the unit out and hook up to the computer. Integration with the Garmin Drive app provides additional function but I rarely use it and your phone can be integrated for making and receiving call if that is needed. Probably the last Garmin with dash cams and newer technology integrated with phones seems to be taking over. Glad to have this unit as it addresses my requirements. ... show more

  • Great resolution & larger touch screen
Size: 7 Inch Pattern: Navigator with Camera
I like that now you can update unit directly from WiFi, no need for computer. With fast internet it took less than 30 minutes to update this unit right out of the box last night and was super easy. The sound quality is much improved over my older Navi unit. One negative for me is the mounting suction cup bracket; when mounted the way I wanted, the dash camera was blocked by bracket; I assume the bracket is much larger due to the much larger (7") and heavier unit. I had to spin the bracket 180° to use dash cam; now the bracket is obtrusive and ugly. My older Garmin Dash Cam unit did not have this problem. Also, no built in little clips or method for handling power cord, which seems much too long. Can't imagine an installation that would require that length power cord! It is nice though that power adapter is now connected with a standard USB connector. This is my fourth Garmin and the improvements are great! ... show more
