Very happy with this dash cam! Easy to use & pleased with picture quality. My only complaint is the SD card was NOT included. But I contacted Garmin & they sent one to us at no charge.

    • Good DashCam with Limitations
I picked a Garmin Dash Cam because I have been happy with previous Garmin products and the support that Garmin provided. The Garmin 47 Dash Cam is small, compact and easy to install with the permanent magnetic mount. I used a Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB micro-SD card that worked without issues. I was able to sync it with the iOS Garmin Drive app and all the functions worked. The Garmin 47 is a good dash cam and works as described. But… If the ability to decipher numbers and text on most license plates and other signs is important then the 1080p video resolution is not adequate. For my next Dash Cam i would opt for a higher resolution Dash Cam, such as the Garmin 57. I found that the one-minute interval for a Travelapse Video is too long and not very useful. An option for a 15 or 30 second interval should be provided. ... show more

Great Dash Cam! Bought this after too many close calls and people attempting to cause wrecks/road rage. Being a defensive driver is good. Having a dash cam to protect you is even better! Installed this camera right behind my rear-view mirror on the dash. So small, I don't even know it's there. 2 months in and I haven't had any issues. I occasionally say "Ok Garmin, Save Video" when i see a traffic violation. Lets me know it's there are working. So far i definitely say i can trust this one. recently purchased the Garmin Dash Cam 47, hoping for a reliable and high-quality product, but it has been nothing short of a disappointment. While the hardware itself is passable, the software is where this device truly fails. the user interface is clunky and unintuitive. Navigating through the app feels like a chore, and basic functions are buried under layers of confusing menus. It's as if the developers didn't bother to consider the end-user experience at all. To add to the disappointment, I own two other inexpensive dash cameras that perform significantly better than the Garmin 47. The budget models offer stable connections, intuitive interfaces, and reliable recording without the constant software headaches. Overall, the Garmin Dash Cam 47's software is a nightmare, turning what should be a helpful device into a source of constant frustration. I expected much better from a brand like Garmin.
