Works well records the crash automatically. No issues for me so far has been a few years. Quality is decent and connecting to download the video is easy. I was able to watch the accident back right away while standing on the side of the road after it happened. This review is after 3 years of use. It’s by far the best dash cam I have had. I have tried some others due to the update features the new ones offer and the pricing, however this one still stands as the most reliable and quality dash cam I have had or seen.     • Great Hardware! Substandard Software... Welcome to Garmin
Pros: -Quality built (construction/material) -Works and dependable -Large company behind product if need warranty later -Feature rich -Comes with everything you need to install it (power cord length was long enough I had to wind it up and hide the unused part) -My biggest "pro" is this connects to your home Wi-Fi when you pull into your driveway and automatically uploads "saved" clips to the Garmin Cloud so it automatically appears in the app (probably the only good thing I will say about the app) Cons: -The app is clunky, slow and really needs a remake.. Actually, Garmin makes some of the best hardware you can get for the devices they offer.. But the software/app side is terrible/has-issues compared to competitors software/app offerings, which makes no sense as they have many employees but this happens across almost all platforms -The camera "save" when you press the button or say the "Okay Garmin save video" is fixed, I would love to be able to extend the time before and after the starting of recording event. -If you don't "save" the clip, and pull the SD card and transfer to your camera, finding the actual incident is not very easy as your looking at 30 sec clips.. Understand "why" they do it like this, but wish they provided software to place on your computer where you can dump the contents of the card and it will generate a continuous video ... show more

    • Cold weather has no affect on it.
Bought many cheap dash cameras, and those would either stop recording or shut off in cold weather. This one works in minus 20 degrees Celsius and wouldn't turn off or quit recording. Picture quality is good. I don't recommend wirelessly downloading footage. Use a card reader to download the desired footage. ... show more

I was hoping for a good recognized name for a dash cam. This is definitely not it. You have to reboot the camera about every 2-3 weeks to get it back on track. I have had it 4 years and what previous buyers mention, it has happened. It does not have a parking guard. Thats 100% total BS. It records when it wants to. I nearly had a bad accident on the highway and went to check the footage. The camera didn’t even record a single thing for that day. The little red light is always on saying that it is recording and power is on but nope don’t fall for that. The app is TERRIBLE. You have to go thru so many different menu's just to see any videos. It looks like you’re looking thru a fishbowl thru the lens. If you want a temporary basic dash cam that will only last a very small while, this is it. I even had mine professionally installed. Best dash cam out there. I bought this for my car, and it has withstood 10 degrees F in the winter parked outside and 105 degrees in the summer in the sun. It is very easy to use and set up. I suggest going for a larger file SD card however for longer recordings.
