Best dash cam out there. I bought this for my car, and it has withstood 10 degrees F in the winter parked outside and 105 degrees in the summer in the sun. It is very easy to use and set up. I suggest going for a larger file SD card however for longer recordings.

    • Good DashCam with Limitations
I picked a Garmin Dash Cam because I have been happy with previous Garmin products and the support that Garmin provided. The Garmin 47 Dash Cam is small, compact and easy to install with the permanent magnetic mount. I used a Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB micro-SD card that worked without issues. I was able to sync it with the iOS Garmin Drive app and all the functions worked. The Garmin 47 is a good dash cam and works as described. But… If the ability to decipher numbers and text on most license plates and other signs is important then the 1080p video resolution is not adequate. For my next Dash Cam i would opt for a higher resolution Dash Cam, such as the Garmin 57. I found that the one-minute interval for a Travelapse Video is too long and not very useful. An option for a 15 or 30 second interval should be provided. ... show more

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and I think it’s a pretty dope setup. The cable length is pretty long but easy enough to work around. Video quality is surprisingly pretty good too.

Traffic and people being what it is/they are nowadays, its nice to have this unit. Nice to have the forward collision alert and lane departure features, as well as notifying you when traffic is starting to move again.     • Unable to Set Up
I recently purchased a Garmin 47 dashcam, but I can’t get it to work with the Garmin Drive app. I’ve gone through all the help articles I could find, reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, forgot the Bluetooth device, and even connected the dashcam to my laptop to install the latest update. Despite all this, I’m stuck. The dashcam appears as connected under my phone’s Bluetooth settings, but during setup, the app gets stuck on the ‘select an accessory’ screen. No accessory ever appears, no matter how long I wait. Even though both my phone and the dashcam show they’re connected via Bluetooth, I can’t proceed with the setup process. ... show more
