Refurbished is the way to go, saves you a lot of money and I couldn't tell a difference between new/refurb. Only thing that i had trouble with is that the language was set in Swedish and I read it. I owned an S1 watch and when it died I thought the feature called layup in the S2 was for course obstacles. NOT Just a subtraction system to tell you how far to hit to 150 or 100 yards. Not usefull and probably would have gotten something else or an other S1

I don't understand the super short battery life on this thing. I've got an edge 500 that can go weeks without a charge. I get nervous around the 16th hole with this guy and stop using a lot of the features. Sort of a pitty because although basic, the functionality is great. Ever since receiving it, I could not get downloaded the many GOLF COURSES as promised. There are still only about 10 courses preloaded which I don't need. I'm in Singapore and wish to download at least all the Singapore courses, as well as others promised. But not possible. Maybe we need n ANT stick ? I tried to buy one from Garmin website but they do not entertain outside USA. How come it did not come with my original purchase if required ? It is till now very FRUSTRATING ! Instructions have too many assumptions and complicated with other devices ! ... show more

Great deal as a refurb, have used it in NorCal, Tahoe and Thailand. Simple, easy to use beats the hell out of my Rangefinder which was a pain to use on the course.

It certainly does it's job. It is accurate. The big issue is the charger. The charger is one of a kind. Unless you remember to charge the watch before a round, you could get caught with a dead GPS on the golf course. It would have been much better if the manufacturer had put the charging circuit inside the watch so you can use a standard mini charger cable to charge the phone. ... show more
