The features you need that you didn’t know you wanted
Size: 2700 Sq. Ft.
I have had sprinklers before and they have worked fine. One brand I have had for years but the width adjustment handles were so flimsy they broke. I decided to buy new one so I tried Aqua****, cheap, worked but you couldn’t adjust the width of the spray - didn’t work - sent it back. Then I purchase Gardena (this model) twice as expensive, but difference is night and day. There is adjustment for pressure, adjustment for the length on both sides using the sliding bars, but here is what is the bees knees, the width of the sprinkler is adjustable individually on each side, that means one side can be full width while the other is at its narrowest giving a myriad of combinations. The adjustment mechanism is also very sturdy and fine. I have only had this a a short while, impressed so far. If it lasts the 5 years it is guaranteed for then money well spent. It also comes with a quick connect and the sprinkler end is one piece with the unit so no leaking, another nice feature. If you don’t need these features the Aqua**** would be fine but if you need adjustments to get in those weird shapes of lawn like mine - this is the one for you. Time will tell how good the workmanship is, if it keeps going without breaking or clogging, I would give it 6 stars ... show more

This turned out to be a great sprinkler so far.
Size: 2700 Sq. Ft.
Turned out to be a nice sprinkler, well worth the increased cost. Easy to adjust and move around my small yard with lots of angles. Quick disconnect system works great. It is plastic so only time will tell how it handles the 🌞. Made in Germany. I would buy it again.

Defective out of box, backed up by curt customer service
Size: 2700 Sq. Ft.
Well, so much for my big dream of buying a higher-priced but high-quality sprinkler that just works: The AquaZoom M sprinkler I bought for its highly touted Gardena quality (they put out some impressive videos about their precision manufacturing and rigorous testing processes) had several apparently defective nozzles/weak streams right out of the box. I tried simple methods of clearing them, like sticking a pin in the nozzles, but nothing helped. I contacted Gardena US warranty support via the chat window on their website. After they had me provide proof of purchase via a handy file-attachment gizmo, they quickly gave me a code to order a new one from their website for free but informed me that a replacement product was "out of stock" until Spring. Oddly, they never asked what was wrong with the sprinkler I already had, and it was not until I directly asked that they said I didn't have to return the original one. I also asked if they would send a chat transcript (a pretty standard feature of online chat systems) so I could have the warranty code info and she said they couldn't do that. (So I manually copied the code and pasted it in my own notes.) In general, Gardena support seemed like they were in a hurry to get me off "the line"--not rude, just curt. I am disappointed that even the highly vaunted German manufacturing industry can't seem to produce a quality product in such a low-tech category, but more than a little irritated that their US support can't provide a better warranty claim experience. Follow-up 03/29/24: Using the special code, I ordered and received the replacement sprinkler, which is slightly different from the original, and marked as model 18714-81 rather than the original (18712-80). Its nozzles are aligned properly and work well. I partially disassembled the original sprinkler and found that there's nothing that can be fixed: The width-adjustable nozzles are molded from a rubbery material in one piece and friction-fitted inside the main tube—and a couple of these nozzles are just misaligned and lower-pressure than the others. How this got past Gardena's vaunted quality control is a mystery. But at least they sent me a replacement. ... show more
