These benches, unlike others I bought in the past, came with the seat and back parts already built. The only work to be done was to hook the sides to the base and the back to the sides. I had asked a friend to come and help me but he would not have been needed at all. Nuts and bolts are tightened using an included Allen wrench. They appear to be sturdy and okay for two moderately heavy people to sit upon. My old benches were starting to give in the center; these to not give at all. What remains to be seen is just how durable they will be as outdoor benches. I will cover them for winter storage but they will be out all summer. UPDATE! UPDATE! I went to move the benches the other day and was greeted by a sloshing sound. I tilted the benches and found that the benches had (both) become filled with rain water! Apparently these beauties have an area(s) where water can get in and remain. I imagine that this water will ultimately rust out or otherwise damage the benches. Now I must go out and purchase black caulking and plug up any areas (likely the joints) where the water will get in. If you buy it, be prepared!

Received my bench today and one corner of the box was bent and ripped (see picture). Thankfully there was styrofoam. The frame seems to be hollow steel so i think it will bend easily with time. I did find some areas on the frame where it kind of caved inward or has a cracked look to it. But for the price, I am still happy that it is functional. It did not take too long to put together. It looks great on our small porch. We will see how it holds up with time

Started off looking fine but not very sturdy. After less than six months, there are many large rust areas, & it needs a completely new paint job. Slightly more effort at the factory & this could be a very good product, but as is expect to repaint within the first 6-8 months or throw it out within 12-18 months. May be a disposable bench for many. Fasteners, welds, & corners all rust, so the bench will not be structurally sound within 6-12 months of purchase. Update: After contacting seller, I was simply told not under warranty, even though I simply passed on the history. Didn't even receive a valid reply, apology, or way to correct the problem myself. Very unprofessional & poor customer service. Steer clear of this seller.

I love this bench! Not at all difficult to put together! I did it on my own! It looks beautiful, it's nicely crafted and it makes me happy to see it! Just so everyone knows, I really did purchase this bench and really do love it. I say this because I get many phone calls per week for someone saying they are from Amazon and I could make 35.00 per hour writing product reviews!

sturdy, comfortable, easy to assemble, took 28 minutes by myself using a couple of old chairs to lean on as I connected screws. Very satisfied with overall sturdiness and comfort. best price period, as you can buy the same elsewhere. quick shipping. Bought clear coat to overlay, has been rained on several times without coating and no rust. Will overlay soon to help prevent rust. However, I think it will not rust for a long time or till its scratched if you don"t apply the clear coat.

Bought this as a gift for my moms birthday..I didn't know how it would ship so I contacted seller, they never responded. I contacted Amazon and they told me coming FedEx. When received after reading reviews wasn't to worried about building. WRONG!!! FIRST OFF, IT TAKES 2 PEOPLE OR MORE TO BUILD. ONE to hold UP THE LEGS AND SEAT AND BACK ON WHILE SOMEONE ELSE PUTS SCREWS IN AND NUTS AND WASHERS! The little wrench that came with it is worthless.. The nuts are not threaded right and we're very hard to get on.. Some were going wrong directions! Finally got put together but it took 2 hours and it wasn't easy. Used our own tools and wrench. Nice bench but not easy to build!!!
