Product is great. Didn't come with the instructions advertised but there's plenty of help on YouTube. Was easy to install but getting the old one off was tricky. Careful to look at the writing on the coils to see if it's still got tension. I'd let the tension off the old one but it still was coiled up on one side which made unscrewing it really tough and felt a little dangerous. Just had to go slow and keep a safe distance. Took a few hours. By the end of it I was happy to learn something new but hiring someone to do it for $400-500 seems reasonable after the fact.

Had a single spring that snapped in half. Used the writing on the existing one to order this one. Fit perfectly. I watched a 16 minute youtube video to help with the install. Completed the project by myself in less than an hour! Worked 2nd try. I slightly overtightened the spring the first time. Backed it off two quarter turns and perfection! Super happy. My buddy recently replaced his as well. But before trying to do it himself he was quoted almost $900 for garage door company to come out and do it. If you have any reservations about doing it yourself....just do it. You wont regret it. Oh ya, the quality of this spring is higher than that of the original. The original had a plastic spacer / bearing at the end of the spring. This one has an steel bearing. Very happy.

I received the pair of springs (262x1.75x38) and immediately installed them per instructions. I also recommend watching an install video prior to you doing the job just to be sure you know what to expect. Definitely remember to clean up the spots where the old set screws may have chewed into the bar for both the springs and the drums at each end. Also, remember to be careful around the springs as you wind them. If you are not comfortable or feel like they could be more of a challenge than you can handle, get a professional rather than hurt yourself or someone nearby. Winding springs can be extremely dangerous!!

The media could not be loaded. Buy from GAS Hardware. They shipped direct from their warehouse but FedEx damaged the box in transit. When I contacted them they immediately sent out replacement rods to complete the job and followed up with me to make sure all was ok. Not many companies deliver that level of customer service anymore. I’d highly recommend to buy from GAS. I had a few other alternatives to save ~ $10 more but I’m glad that I went with a company that cares about making their customers successful! Plus they have an extended 3year warranty for your piece of mind. It’s good to buy from a company you know will be around later, not some of these who sell on Amazon and then “sorry page cannot be found” a month later… Thank you GAS!
