Update... It is still sticking pretty good. I pieced a few small areas, and they have separated. But still looks good. It does "bleed" though. Every time we rinse the boat out, it runs orange. So the color is not gonna last, but, it's been in the sun and on the water alot, and still holding up pretty good. Original post We love the look and feel of this foam decking. Easy to work with and install. I made a template first. (Measure twice, cut once) You will need a very sharp blade. I had to change blades a couple times to get nice cuts. We used 5 rolls. (Our boat is 28'6) We could have used 4. But I was picky and did not want to piece any of it together. Besides, I used the excess to cover the floor below deck. Can't testify to how long it will last, but it seems to stick real well. Will update later as we see how it holds up. ... show more

My old 70's sailboat had a rotten cockpit sole which required recoring. Access the bottom was difficult, so I did a top-down repair. The top skin with the molded-in anti-skid texture was in pretty poor condition to start with, too, so I just laid a new skin and used this EVA foam on top. After the paint on the new fiberglass had a week to cure fully, I cleaned it thoroughly with soap and water and a wipe of acetone, then carefully laid down the foam - you want to be accurate with this, the adhesive is very strong and you won't really have the chance to reposition. It's much more comfortable to stand on than the old anti-skid, and still provides good grip like you need on a boat. I'm more than satisfied with the functionality of this decking and plan to apply it on the rest of the cockpit next season. It's held up well through one season with no signs of wear or damage. I bought 4 rolls and initially thought the quality seemed good. After installing a portion of the interior floor, I noticed the next rolls planks didn’t line up with the first. I tried the other two I had and they didn’t either. I knew this may be the case after reading reviews but thought I would gamble. If you look closely at the third pic you’ll see what I’m talking about. They start off lined up but the gradually become unaligned. Oh well. Obviously it didn’t matter for the swim decks so I wasn’t overly concerned. Overall quality seems fine. I’ve had the interior installed for a few weeks and am happy so far. Lots of traffic (kids) and water and so far so good on the adhesion. Installed the swim decks portion last night. Time will tell on the adhesion there. For the money/savings, I would recommend for sure. Looks sharp, feels good, nice thickness and seems to have strong adhesive (so far). Major improvement from the old stuff. I imagine I’ll get a lot of compliments. Take your time and do it right! 4 stars due to planks not lining up and slight color variance between rolls. ... show more

I bought this product based on prior reviews and 3M adhesive factor. I used rosin paper to make the templates which was great because it was sturdy and easy to work with. Ilas far as cutting the flooring, be sure to have multiple utility knives and lots and lots of blades. I have no idea how many I went through however it was a lot. You can tell real quick when your blade needs replaced because it starts to snag and becomes difficult to cut. When cutting I had layers of cardboard underneath it and used a metal “L” to run the blade along. When installing, I pulled part of the backing off and got into place little by little before removing more of the backing. I did purchase a small roller to help apply pressure when installing, I would definitely recommend the roller. The end result is great, there are some imperfections in the installation however that is on me not the product. Looking forward to boating season starting to get enjoy the flowing instead of scrubbing the fiberglass floor nonstop. We have a 23’ Monterey Explorer and was able to do the inside of the boat and the back platform off of three full size sheets. ... show more
