I replaced a different brand with this opener. The original opener only required use of the enter button to close the door, once open. This one requires the code first which is not an issue for us - it's just different. What I do like better is the audible buttons to confirm they've been fully pressed, and brighter keys at that. I read several reviews, a few of which commented "read the instructions" and it works fine. True. It's not just plug and play, but it's universal - of course you have to read the instructions for your model. Mine was a LiftMaster and worked great. Buttons work with first push unlike some other models I’ve had before. Battery last great, other models died very quickly. Easy to pair. Would buy again.

Good performance, good quality and easy to use. Overall good value. Had a little trouble with programming in that I didn't know if my opener was intellacode 1 or 2 but with a little persistence got it to work perfectly

The instruction manual is not easy to follow in my opinion. I had started a return but came back in the house and watched one of the videos. I was not understanding the one step. After that the programing was easy and I suggest following the instructions on the keypad bit the manual. The original opener I bought 4 years ago would never close the door and after programming it I had to reprogram all my openers Plus the cover on the old one did not latch and in the wind would blow open. I installed this after the second genuine Genie keypad failed due to poor weatherproofing. It works fine for 1/2 the cost, and I think the buttons have a more positive feel and audible feedback. Programming was slightly fussy but done once in 15 mins and now it works great.

Paired this with a new genie belt drive 3/4 HP and it works great. 15 bucks less than the one they had for it at the store. Very straight forward , just follow the directions.

    • Programming is cumbersome and the instructions are inaccurate.
My brand model is marantec m55. After successfully programming the wireless keyboard and linking it to the door opener, I found that the original remote control did not work again. After the remote control was linked to the door opener again, the wireless keyboard did not work again. This means that this keyboard is not compatible with the bottle opener and the remote control, and cannot work with other devices at the same time. I have reported this problem to the merchant, but I have not received any message or email for several days. ... show more
